| Smiling Eyes In Kenya |

I wrote in a previous post "Topsey Turvey" about the child we wanted to sponsor in Kenya. We originally wanted to sponsor a girl, but it seems all the girls have sponsors. We could have connected with a girl in the Iula Orphanage, but I really wanted Kipkaren because I have a faint but persistent thought that perhaps one day I will go there on a short term mission trip and I can actually meet this child. That would be so exciting and amazing. Through the years we have sponsored various children through various organizations, but there was always a sense of distance. But I actually know people in Kipkaren, Kenya and a number of other people from church have already been over there on mission trips. There are definite possibilites here.
Well, this week we received a little boy's photo and profile. I was so glad to see his face. He lost both his mother and father to AIDS, but has been in the orphanage for the past year. It is not so much an orphanage as a big family of 12 boys and 12 girls in a home, with parents, and aunties to help. There are 4 or 5 of these "homes" in the village. His face seems to radiate happiness and he has such a big grin on his face. I will write him soon, but I want to send some pictures of Duane and I along with the letter. We are going to enjoy getting to know this little man.
Blessings to all and peace out.
