 Uh oh spaghetti-o's
Help!

A male friend of mine just called me and asked me out for drinks on Thursday.  At first I was all excited because we haven't hung out in a while and it would be fun.  Excited that was, until he said "You're still single, right?"  What does that have to do with anything??? Was my immediate reaction.   It then sunk in that this is a "date".  What exactly makes something a date?  Can't a girl and a guy go out for drinks and not be dating?  In which case why would it matter if I was single!?

So I'm completely NOT attracted to this guy, and it would be extraordinarily weird to go out with this guy as a date, especially since he's good frends with my ex.  But I really like him as a friend and want to hang out with him.  I'm not sure what to do!  I think it would be okay to still go, because I think I can clarify when we are out that I don't want to date anyone seriously right now, which is the truth.

Is it okay for a girl to date guys without the intention of becoming their girlfriend?  Especially since I won't sleep with them?  I feel like guys wouldn't want to go on dates with a girl unless they were getting sex out of it.  Is a good time not enough?

Ugh, how did I get into this again?
