 Christopher Pittman, Prisoner Of Ignorance
The U.S. Supreme Court refused to hear the Christopher Pittman case?! Yes, he murdered two
people. Yes, he should be punished. But, how can you give a 12-year-old thirty years in prison?
Why not the death penalty? The truth is, he will probably commit suicide in prison or be killed
in prison or go crazy in prison before the thirty years are up. Why? Can you imagine going through
puberty in prison? What kind of deviant life will he have and  what kind of even more deviant person will he become? May as well give him the death penalty now as save society from further tragedy. Understand, I have
worked with juveniles as a school teacher and then, later, as an attorney representing them. Over the years,
and I know this is harsh, but I have come to see being a kid as a form of retardation. I have kids of my
own. Kids make stupid, jackass decisions and do stupid, crazy stuff. Why? They are retarded until
perhaps their mid-twenties. In the course of my legal career I have hired psychologists to examine kids and spoken with many kids. I saw them transition towards adulthood. Truthfully, kids are really, really dumb.
People like to say how smart a kid is, like, "Wow,  how smart that kid is!!" We never have those reactions
to a smart adult. Instinctively we know kids are pretty stupid and that is why we get amazed when they
show some talent.  How can we put a dumbass, crazy kid in prison for 30 years?? If you can get 30
years in prison as a kid, you should be able to smoke and drink and drive a car. We don't allow the
privileges to kids and, yet, we will punish them just like an adult?? Christopher Pittman is a prison
of his ignorance (a product of his nature and nurture) and now he is a prison of our stupidity too.
For the kids reading this, yet you believe you are smart and that is the biggest form of stupidity of all.
It is only when we finally become adults we realize we don't know everything. Thinking you know everything is its own form of stupidity.
