 Banning Peanuts

Some baseball parks are thinking about banning peanuts. In the seventh-inning stretch,
people sing, "...give me some peanuts and Cracker Jack..." Now, the song may have to
change. Should baseball parks ban peanuts???

PRO
Some people are highly allergic and may die if exposed.

Baseball fans have many other snack options anyway.

CON
Wait, some people are allergic to wheat and starches.
And, since most other baseball snacks are sugar or flour based,
what will those fans eat??

What happened to freedom?

How do we decide? Well, let's analogize. Everyday, you have to commute to work through
severe traffic. This commute raises your blood pressure and increase your risk of death
by traffic collision and the stress increases your risk of death by stroke, heart attack, and
cancer. Solution? Everyone should be told to get out of your way and you should get a solo
lane all to yourself. Will it happen? Should it happen? NO, IT WON'T HAPPEN.

We all have to deal with our problems, OURSELF. And, arguably, something like traffic
is at least everyone's problem. People who are allergic can watch a baseball game on TV.
Unfair, you say! Why shouldn't the allergic enjoy the company of other people?! No, the
allergic doesn't want to take the other people as they are. They want to take the other
people, fans, minus their peanuts. In life, we don't get just one part of a person, we get
the whole person.

What about smoking you say?? First of all, smoke doesn't bother me and neither to do
smokers. I don't agree with the ban on smoking. People should be allowed to have as
many "cancer sticks" as they want. BUT, even if I were a passionate anti-smoker, as least
the anti-smokers can show that nearly everyone is vulnerable to smoking and second-hand
smoke. There is only small percentage of people that are allergic to peanuts, approximately
1%. There are even fewer people who are morbidly allergic.

I would like to play at Augusta National Golf Course. However, because of my handicap,
I cannot play there. But, it would be great to play there. It would be a dream to play there.
But, I probably never will. That saddens me...but, I'll live. So will those who watch the game from
home. Even if peanuts were banned, perhaps someone would sneak in a few...or perhaps,
instead, they might work at a peanut brittle factory--so their clothing would cause a problem...or....some
other peanut-permutation...In other words, why ruin the game for everyone else when the game
must stopped for the emergency ambulance  summoned because a life-threatening allergic reaction
has arisen due to the multiple opportunities presented by 50,000 random people at a baseball game???
