 Moebius
If you haven't already you should definitely check out this website: www.improveverywhere.com
It is a group of random people who do random, silly stuff. One of my favorites is titled, "The Moebius."

Here's the idea:
You get a group of people together and come up with a 2-5 minute skit. You go somewhere in public...like Starbucks and play out the skit (nothing too dramatic). Then you repeat it exactly the way you just did it. And then, you repeat it again, and again, and again. You may repeat it as many times as you want. Eventually people are going to notice a pattern. And that's when it gets difficult not to start cracking up. Sarah was laughing so hard she was crying!

Here is the skit we did today at Starbucks and Panera:

Sarah, Mary Alice and Kim all go in and sit down at a table.
I come in and we are all shocked to see one another.
Sarah says, "Hey."
Kim says, "What's up girlfriend?"
Mary Alice says, "It's so good to see you."
And I say, "It's been such a long time."
Then Sarah says, "We should take a picture."
I say, "Absolutely."
The three of us (Mary Alice, Kim and I) squeeze together for a photo and Sarah gets up to take the picture.
Sarah bumps into the table.
Mary Alice says, "You ok?"
Then Sarah says "1, 2, 3!" and snaps the picture.
I turn to Mary Alice and say, "It was so good to see you."
Then as I get up to leave, Mary Alice pretends like she just got a call.
She says, "Ugh! I wish he would stop calling me!"
She gets up and goes near the window.
She says, "What is your problem? Why can't you just leave me alone? Seriously!"
Then she waits for a second, says "What?!" and goes back over to the table.
She says in disgust, "He just hung up on me!"
Sarah shakes her head and says, "Jerk."
Then Mary Alice asks Sarah how the picture turned out. They start to look at them.
During this time I go to the lobby and look at a newspaper, read the headlines and leave the restaurant.
When Mary Alice goes back to the table I come back in.
The cycle repeats.
Oh, by the way...this whole time Kim is jamming to her "pod" and nodding her head with the music. It was great.

So, what is the point of this little charade?
There is none...and that's the fun of it.
Well, that's not entirely true. You want people to realize something is going on and smile or laugh or say something about it.

Here are a few of the comments the girls overheard:

"I feel like I'm in the twilight zone."
"Dude, I think we're on candid camera."
A couple guys started saying Mary Alice's lines along with her.
By the 10th time they had memorized the whole thing!
One guy got up and stared at us through the window after we left (and Mary Alice pretended like she got another call! It was hilarious!)

We actually took a picture each time. In a couple of them you can see the guys smilling in the background while they were listening to us. I am pretty sure one of the guys was texting someone telling them what was going on. He was cheesing with a big smile on his face.

Hopefully I can get the pics from Sarah and post them on here for you to see.

I recommend you try this one! It is tremendously fun. Next time we're going to try to videotape it.

It was amazing. Soooo much fun.
