 boredom
i. am. bored.

I really have nothing to do here at work. I spend my time preparing things for my departure. By the way, I gave my TWO WEEK'S NOTICE today. That felt pretty good. Bye bye Convergys. You suck.

Anyway...I spend my day reading people's blogs and contemplating life, love, and justice. I was talking to Mary Alice last night and she was saying how much she likes the "blog circle" we are all connected in. She starts her day at Lea's page and goes to all the links from there. Plus, Sarah is updating her Xanga blog now too - so you'll have to add that one. There's a link on Mary Alice's page. It won't let me go there cause Convergys sucks. Did I mention I gave my TWO WEEK'S NOTICE?

Alright...new subject.

Being at home for a while reminded me of just how "pun"-ny my family is. Mainly my dad. He probably spits out 25 puns a day. Most of them aren't funny. But he gets some good ones sometimes. I used to be so jealous of dad and my brother. Puns just seemed to come naturally to them. And my mind didn't work that way. Then, one day, it clicked. My brain finally decided to use the pun gene I received from my dad. I'm not nearly as bad as the guys though. And I filter myself. If it's not funny - I don't say it. But with dad and Shawn - anything goes. Actually, Shawn's filter has grown a little since his earlier years. Thank goodness.

Anyway...so here I am at work all bored - and my cell phone rings. It's a number I don't recognize so I'm hesitant to answer, but hey - I'm bored. And it turns out to be Roberta!...with an invitation to trivia at the Mudville Grille. How cool is that? At least once work is over I will be less bored. I was just going to go home and sort through more of my crap (trying to throw away as much stuff as possible before I move). So, this invitation came at a great time.

By the way - I really want to sell my motorcycle (and what I mean by "want" is "really don't want to, but really, really should"). So - put the word out guys. Remember there's a picture and stats on this blog.

If I don't sell it I have two options. I can spend $500 hauling it up to Virginia. Or I could spend $60 driving it up there on beautiful mountain roads. I think I'll choose option two. Which means I'll have to drive my car up with all my crap in it. Fly back down (maybe in time for the Captivating retreat?) and ride it back to VA. In a car it takes about 10 hours. On a bike?...with no windshield?...and a cautious driver?...and a sore hiney?...it might take a couple days. Actually - I think I can make it in one. But I'm not gonna push it. I'll give myself the option of staying the night somewhere. I love hotels! For real - always makes me feel like I'm on vacation.

The only thing I'm worried about is the no windshield thing. My neck gets a little sore after a couple hours of riding. But I'll have to stop and fill up every couple of hours - so I can give myself time to rest. Ok, I lied. I'm also worried about scratching it up. I'm a really safe driver - so I'm not worried about crashing. I'll be in the right hand lane the whole time (probably) and will pretend like I am invisible. And I'll have on protective gear. Oh - weather. I'm also worried about the weather. I can drive in rain - no problem. But it's not the most exciting thing in the world. I'd have to buy a rain suit. Nobody likes to ride in soggy jeans. I'd have one backpack with a change of clothes and a toothbrush. And go on the adventure of a lifetime! At least - I think it'll be cool.

I'm assuming mom will read this and say "Now Shan - that's not really a good idea. I'd rather have your father pay the $500." Well, mom - you'd better pray I sell it in the next couple weeks. Cause if not - I'm riding.

God seems to listen to Mom pretty well. So - maybe it'll get sold. Remember - spread the word!

Oh...did I mention I put in my TWO WEEK'S NOTICE!?!?!

Six months... Whatever. How come it's wrong for me and I'm going to fight on your side? I don't get it.
