I'm usually not one to post prayers on site, but it is time:
God,our father: we know you hear our prayers, the spoken and the unspoken; and you know the needs. We place in your loving hands the care of our dear friends John and Cully, asking for them strength and courage as they face difficult days.
John has caught the flu that is ravaging our world; and his system is already bearing many burdens. we ask wisdom for his medical caregivers, strength to endure, and comfort to those who love him. He has been your good and faithful servant; be with him in this trying hour.
Cully's own body has turned against her and she faces her final days; she has made good decisions for her child, and we ask that you watch over that child as she faces bewilderment and grief. give her medical providers wisdom and compassion; if there can be healing let it be so, but if that is not to be, let her passing into life eternal be gentle and without pain. bring comfort to her family and to all who love her.
we pray that we might feel your presence in this time of worry and grief; draw us closer to one another so that we may be stronger and more helpful to those who are hurting worst.
take away our worries and fears- let John and Cully- and us- know that inward peace that passes all understanding. Be with us and abide with us, now and forevermore.
Amen
