 happy Halloween..
Hope Y'all have a happy Halloween.. kind of a favorite holiday. it was my mom's birthday-- although she always said it was the 30th.. but mainly because when I owned a hobby and craft store I got into serious Halloween before anyone else really did. High end masks, quality makeup, costume rental.. and I made a nice buck.. but for a week I was busy as a one-armed paperhanger with hives..
couldn't decide on a costume so I'm gonna bend over and back in naked.. I'll be a Parker House roll...
Son Bill had an interesting week. He's doing his practicum for D/A counseling.  a counselor asked him to type up some notes so he sat down at the guy's computer stand.. Bill's a big guy and it was too low. there was a button in the center of the column.. so he pressed it and pulled up.. nada. Oh well.. It was a panic button that scrambled every cop for miles! Bill said he felt  like Jake Blues.. he admitted it and things calmed down.. an hour later the Sheriff's office called. they wanted to call the incident a"test"- they hadn't done their mandatories. so it turned out OK. then today Bill went the extra mile.. made over 100 phone calls to find a desperate person a residential bed. His supervisor called staff and said.. "don't call him student anymore.. call him intern." Bill feels really good about that.
He's struggling to learn how to not take all this home with him, how to compartmentalize and avoid emotional burnout. but he'll get there.. He's on a good path....

Wow! Your son is really doing great. I'll be praying that he finds how to leave the baggage at work. It is so hard to do. I struggled with that some when I was teaching.

Hope you have a great Halloween.

God bless ya Pastor Mike!

I worked for a security firm once at a chemical plant. Not long after leaving the army. One of the lights on the board was flashing, I didn't know what to do as no one had realy trained me. It was flashing for 10 mins before I got the guts to call the firemen! I called them and there was about 200 firemen outside my office! It turned out to be the computer room showing up hot! They just laughed and said they were bored anyway! Thinking back I should have called sooner! Lol, always press the button:)

Ya Dokta:) They sacked me in the end, I fell asleep.

I don't know if he make it to your level though. He never ran a manure spreader down Main St.,or raised an outhouse up a flagpole. But maybe some people can learn from others mistakes.
But only the best of deserved luck to him! He seems to be a "Chip off the old block". And that ain't bad!

his mistakes were a lot less superficial and hard to fix.. he struggled with an addiction for 6 years. he wants to help others beat theirs..
