What wise thoughts and I do hope they make a lot of people stop and think.

You are a great inspiration. We've had a big family dissappointment and I'm trying to be positive. The thing is I didn't really pray for it as I felt it would be wrong, but on the other hand my family are not Christians and to discover things were happening because of prayer would be a big help to put it mildly. Anyway, it didn't happen and I know it is because His plan is different. I think I really need to take a 'God Walk'. Compared to the things I read by other bloggers my problems are very small. I'm sure you must inspire a lot of them with your faithfullness. Thank you for sharing.

And now we have to pray for sleep - for all of you. It's such a healing thing and will make a huge difference. Thank God for ever other improvement and thank you for letting us all know.

I only realised on reading this again how Irish the tone was and I do hope people understand the basis of it. But thank you Danyell, cause it did end very happily and opened doors for a much nicer understanding for us all.

But what about the travelling? You got the career, the home, the baby and the contents of a handbag but did you fulfil the rest of your dreams? Hope you have a very happy anniversary. E

All the things I've ever worried about in my life have never, ever been as bad as I dreaded they would be. It's hard to be told not to worry but just take each day as it comes and try your best to get on with your Mum - it's not easy for her either! Sometimes we hurt the people we love most without meaning to.

I, too, love reading your thoughts so beautifully and eloquently put together. Please keep writing them. E

Hi Laura, Conkers are chestnuts. They are roasted to make them harder, then put on a string and a knot tied at the end. Each kid holds the string in one hand and the conker in the other and they hit the other conkers until they split. The person with the conker still in tact is the winner. Simple, but fun and of course there were no computer games in those days! E

I just loved reading your story but I found the heavy lettering way too distracting and I wanted to read your beautifully written account. Could we have nother one with out it? Please?

We're all lazy about it unless you are blessed with the ability to devote your life contantly to prayer and praise. You are doing it in your own way and you are constantly giving God credit for what He is doing in your life and He is rewarding you for your faithfulness. The blues are hard to get through but when you do the sun shines through. Bless you.

A horrible, horrible time in your life. I'm so glad you have such a loving family.

Just saw some photos of Anna for the first time - what a beautiful child! I am so glad things are improving so much for you. I have no doubt God will reward your faithfulness with abundance. Sleep well. E

You have had a very unfair start in your very short life, but you are doing your utmost to be a good mother and that is the best thing you can be. Life will get easier, trust me, and if those two beautiful boys respect you as much as you respect them, then the future will hold much for you. I really pray you meet someone who will be your soul mate to love and protect you.

You know every day is not eventful, but your thoughts always are, so feel free to continue writing them in your own, inimitable way.

Posted in My second day at college..almost... on 2007-09-04 14:27:23
You know at least a quarter of the other kids are all feeling just the same but nobody wants to admit it. Starting college is a hinge, the opening of a new chapter in your life. Don't let it all pass by because of fear of something that hasn't happened. Tomorrow is a whole new day - you take a big deep breath and go for it. I bet there's someone out there would just love to befriend you and who is feeling just as scared. So put a big smile on your face, even if you don't feel like smiling on the inside. Smiling is really infectious.

If you weren't Scottish I would swear you were Irish. I liked the bit about everyone having a name. It's very like that in Donegal where we live part of the time. Love your sense of humour!

Yes it is possible. I have a friend who went through the same thing. Her husband felt terrified by her illness and did the stupidist thing of his life. I told her that I have always believed that if there was deep love and passion at the beginning of a relationship it is possible to get it back. Your husband has shown weakness, you have had to be strong. The hurt will go away eventually I promise. I really feel for you but I believe there is hope. You won't forget, but you can forgive provided he wants your forgiveness. Only you know if he's worth it. I hope he is, cause it's going to be tough, but it is possible. Sleep well - time is the greatest healer in this case.

I think you are doing really well. You are taking a positive attitude and it is this which will see you through. The downside of having a depressive personality is knowing that you are always going to go through bad times. The upside is that you appreciate the good times so much more than those who enjoy equalibrium. I read once that someone who suffered from the most awful depression said that given the choice she would prefer to have it rather than not as she savoured every moment of joy she was given. I come from a long line of females prone to melancholy and anxiety. I lately came across my grandmother's diary and it broke my heart to read how she went through it alone. She had such a hard life and I feel so priveleged to have had her in my life for so long. My mother suffered also and, sadly, so does my daughter. The thing is, you can beat it and it sounds like that is what you will do. In my grandmother's day it simply wasn't discussed. Now there are so many ways we can seek help. God has given us this big, amazing world to enjoy and we owe it to Him to appreciate it. You hang on in there and each morning when you wake, just ask God to give you the grace for today. It's free to all who ask. May your future be richly blessed.
