I'm so tired of "chasing" people. I have friends whom I have been trying to get together with for months, we have children the same age and seem to enjoy each others company and it's always nice to have an adult to speak to. Everyone is so busy though, working, taking kids to sports, classes, etc. When do they make time for themselves? Yes, I get busy too, but I still would like to spend time with others once in awhile. When I talk to these people they always agree that "yes" we should get together, they will call, etc., but it never happens, I make myself available since my schedule is a bit more adaptable than most. It's difficult not to take it personally sometimes. Do I scare people, do I come across as needy, stuck up, threatening? I don't feel I am any of those. Perhaps I am too easy...
I'm so frustrated, it would be so nice to have someone to get together with once in awhile.I would love to have a friend(s) to share the trials and tribulations of parenthood with. I know there are others out there who would like to do the same, so why can't I find them?

Sometimes people as just too wrapped up in their own world to take time out for others. I know how you feel. Keep persisting with those you want to keep in touch with. Give up on those who you don't.

I have been feeling that way for years...seems to me people get so wrapped up in their children, they no longer make time for their "friends." It is at the point, if you can find one good friend, you're lucky. Good luck!

I can relate to this totally -- the only friends I have are far away and/or crazy. :(
