 don't call!
I haven't seen country boy since our first date, and to be honest I'm a little sad.  Our phone conversations are still pretty good, in that I'm not complaining in the least.  Saturday night I had agreed to go out for a girls night and all the girls but one bailed out. So I wasn't that excited to go. I had told CB this, and he said he'd call to "rescue" me in case I wasn't having any fun, I could bail.  Well he never called. He had his daughter saturday night, so I didn't think much of it, except for a little disappointment, it wasn't that big of a deal. Sunday, I was going to go do some work at my new place, but the air broke at my house I currently live in, and the heat drained me, so I stayed around the house and played lazy.  I had hoped to hear from CB, since I knew he was taking his daughter back to her mom at 4pm.  but to no avail, he didn't call.  So by Monday this bothered me.  I know he's not much of a phone person, but if you're thinking about someone wouldn't you call them if you already knew you weren't going to see them?  So I'm telling myself.. let him take the lead... let him be the "guy".. don't call him... don't call him... don't call him....

yep.. I called.   but I DID wait until 8pm Monday night.  that was the best I could do under the circumstances.
our conversation went really well... of course I did NOT mention that he didn't call at all on Sunday, I'm not trying to come across as clingy or dependent.  I did however sarcastically mention "thanks for the rescue Satuday night"  he tells me he completely forgot because he got wrapped up in a scary movie with his daughter.  I just said "ouch"  with a half laugh...  I said, I don't think anyone has ever told me they forgot me... he laughed and said, ok I didn't "forget"... but by the time I remembered you should've been eating breakfast.  I said breakfast?  he said yeah, I remembered when I woke up the next day... we had a little laugh over that...  so I point blank asked him when was I going to get to see him again.  He tells me that he's trying to get tags and insurance on his new truck and then he'll be mobile...  though he's concerned with my feelings on having him around minime... that some girls are very particular about having men around their kids.  I said, I'm not much on hey this is mommy's boyfriend... at least not until it's a serious relationship... but hey this is mommy's friend, it not a big deal kindof thing... is ok with me.   He said that his daughter (9yrs old) has already figured him out.  He had her at his Mom's on Sunday and his daughter called him out...  "daddy, have you told Grandma the "insert my real name here" story???"   He said he had... and little miss 9 starts giving grandma her take on it...  he was telling me that little miss 9 ended the story with her most important thing that she knew about me, with a "...and Grandma.... she has the COOLEST car!!!"   I had to laugh when I heard that story!
I find it funny that I mulled over the decision of what kind of car to buy b/c of my situation with EC... and this very decision was the reason I met Country Boy!
wow the rabbit trails I took with that one...
SO with all of that said, he's hoping to have his truck legalities done today, and with minime at her dad's... Maybe I'll get to see him tonight????

I totally empathize with the whole not calling part... It's so hard not to do, but unless you wait for them to call you... you'll never know if they were thinkin about you... UGH!

Good luck and keep us posted!!

I like the sound of Country Boy - he sounds cool and I think after EC you deserve it. Well, even putting EC aside you deserve it!! Can't wait to read what happens next...

I agree that relationships can be challenging. In fact, I’ve tried pretty much everything. Now my friend, psychologist Dr. Alexander, showed me what’s been missing. I was looking at the wrong type for me. If you go on Dr. Alexander’s new site, www.loveTypes.com, and take the quiz, you’ll find the type that’s best for you.
