Thoughts.com is inspired by the belief that there is one universal love that we all share. You are invited to join the community, share your thoughts, enjoy great conversations, and even debate heated issues. The only thing we require is that you are respectful of one another and considerate of the other's perspective when a point of disagreement arises. Nobody knows everything, and the potential for us to learn is endless if we only allow ourselves to learn. In order to learn, we must be open to new and different ideas.
The current state of the world is one where we face impending climate changes, an economic crisis, brutal violence and wars that are devastating to humanity. It is time for us to learn from our mistakes of the past and start living our lives in a more loving and understanding way, so we can take better care of this precious earth that we are so fortunate to live on, and so we can create a better civilization for our children of tomorrow.
Please come and share your thoughts with the world. We believe that everyone should make contributions that will make our world a better place. We see thoughts.com as a vehicle for making positive changes in the world. If you believe like we do, that the time has come for everyone to start taking action and living life in a more positive, productive way, then you should fit right in here. Our community is built on a foundation of love. We believe thoughts.com will not only help people come together in a positive and supportive environment, but will ultimately help to make real and significant contributions to those in need. Whether that be by finding ways to bring clean water to remote third world villages, or by helping to bring medical facilities and medicine to communities in need, we are focused on doing everything that we can to help people who desperately need it, and we ask you to please join us in our efforts.
A few of the great programs that we are passionate about which you can get involved with and start making a difference today are highlighted below.
http://www.unicef.org/ - UNICEF is the driving force that helps build a world where the rights of every child are realized. We have the global authority to influence decision-makers, and the variety of partners at grassroots level to turn the most innovative ideas into reality. That makes us unique among world organizations, and unique among those working with the young.
We believe that nurturing and caring for children are the cornerstones of human progress.
UNICEF was created with this purpose in mind - to work with others to overcome the obstacles that poverty, violence, disease and discrimination place in a child's path. We believe that we can, together, advance the cause of humanity. (information from their website)

http://www.tapproject.org/ - In 2007, the Tap Project was born in New York City based on a simple concept: restaurants would ask their patrons to donate $1 or more for the tap water they usually enjoy for free, and all funds raised would support UNICEF's efforts to bring clean and accessible water to millions of children around the world.
Growing from just 300 New York City restaurants in 2007 to thousands across the country in 2008, the Tap Project has quickly grown into a national movement. Restaurants, corporations, volunteers, advertising agencies, community groups, local governments and everyday diners participated to save millions of children's lives. http://www.makeitrightnola.org/ - The Mission of Make It Right is clear: it is to be a catalyst for redevelopment of the Lower 9th Ward, by building a neighborhood comprised of safe and healthy homes that are inspired by Cradle to Cradle thinking, with an emphasis on a high quality of design, while preserving the spirit of the community's culture. The goal is to accomplish this quickly, so that the first residents can begin returning to their homes as soon as possible. (information from their website)
http://www.habitat.org/ - Founded in 1976, Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is an ecumenical Christian housing ministry. HFHI seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need. Habitat has built more than 300,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1.5 million people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. Habitat is founded on the conviction that every man, woman and child should have a simple, decent, affordable place to live in dignity and safety. (information from their website)
These are only a few. In reality, there are many more projects that need your help so please take some time and research the issues that you are passionate about. Find a way to get involved and make a difference.
http://www.charitynavigator.org/ is an excellent resource that will help you to browse through the long list of available charities out there. It provides great information such as which charities are managing their money properly, and which ones are not. This is an invaluable website and a great place to begin you research.
Thank you in advance for doing your part to make this world a better place.
Get involved today.
