 without exCHANGE
Greed is the attempt to get something for nothing without exchange or adding value.

Think about the consequences of greed and this statement. Think about how it applies to ourselves, our career, those that we work for, those that work for us, the things we are consumers of within our worldthe ripple effect of greed is far reaching.

If we have a roof over our head, food to eat, and are not living off of the streets in a truly destitute situation, then our life is abundant. There are many layers within the spectrum of abundance—where we see ourselves and where we would like to be—life is still abundant. When we try to devalue or “take” from something or someone that we wish was FREE because we see ourselves as having little or nothing, this is greed. Our cities, states, countries—the world—feel the very large impact of the greed of many as of late with the “economy” (AN ENTIRE OTHER SUBJECT, very much still connected).

In actions of hoarding, “getting the most for the $”, approaching others and trying to take from them for ourselves, requesting/demanding without exchange…the list may go on but greed is being accentuated within our lives and sending the pandemonium of failure and sorrow around us into a deeper obis.

Fair exchange should be ENERGY IN = ENERGY OUT, this is the heart of energetic balance.

There are three examples that come to mind that occurred within this last week:

A group of women went out to dinner. Each enjoyed a lovely meal, superb service with phenomenal food and wine. When they were paying, each individual payed for their meal. When it came to tipping, one of the individuals decided to only tip 7% because they felt the server did “good”. The reality of the action is that the women sat at the table in a busy restaurant for 2 hours. The server may have sat another table who may have ordered more, with possibly more tips. All of these women have abundant lives to be grateful for, if they are in the position to dine out, they should minimally leave a tip for 15-20% for good to excellent service, more if they consumed the potential earning abilities for this server. The service industry feels the economy because many service providers do not list what they charge up-front per minute of the day, they depend and have faith that clients and guests will be grateful and match gratitude with fair exchange for energetic output.

An owner of a business is very mindful of costs and overhead of their “small business” with annual earnings in a six figure range. The expectation of the owner is to have each employee, full, part-time, contracted do 100% to ensure success for the owner’s business. Many of these employees give more, and the expectation increases to higher standards. When investigating practices and common expectations, workers attend meetings without pay, do promotions without pay, services without pay, and many do the “little things” that are not within job descriptions without acknowledgement or energetic exchange from the owner. Gratitude is the most abundant form of currency that speaks for actions performed and ironically has not been a common practice. Even more so, when the energetic exchange was examined, mind-set of the business and clients explored, the veins of greed and attachment with money are deep. Many of the workers resent the situation, but they stay because the spiritual perpetuation of wellness and contribution to society is more profound, though their needs and energy exchange are not being met. None the less, if we detach from money, pay people fairly for the time they invest in us, we get a MUCH greater return than if we cling to a silly piece of paper and “small” mindsets. Our return on investment (ROI) is far higher when we “reinvest” in a happy staff, than when we retain large visions within small paramenters.

An artist spoke about how they would LOVE to do a class but how they had no money to attend. They inquired if they could just “sit-in” to see if they liked the class experience without paying. The analogy was: would it be okay if someone took a picture of the art you create if they cannot afford the painting? The artist paused, considered the request, then spoke about the economy, the effects, and how their situation is causing hurt in their lives. Upon further discussion, we realized that the person had a full time secure job, maybe not something that was the most desireable way to contribute to society or spend their day, but they made a very handsome income that afforded a good life, with spending money to pursue art, pay for the studio that they created their vision within, the supplies, and time to create the beautiful paintings. Life is so abundant, an exchange may have been achieved if the individual thought before asking and how the communication would impact the teacher of this class.

We are not alone in these economic times, we each share the same story of how these times are effecting ourselves. If money is not coming to you, tap into the channels of giving and receiving. There is more currency changing hands now than ever before. When we give away what we do not have and would like to have more abundantly within our lives, the pathways open and our wish is our command. This does not mean we sit back, give away all of our money and expect it to return without action, but that in our actions and words we are gracious and plentiful. If we cannot afford something, we want to do it, get people to do it with us, the costs are definitely less expensive.

Three examples:

A fine bottle of wine ranges from $15—$60+ and averages five glasses. We get 5-10 friends together and go in on this, the cost goes down for our taste and pleasure, with the priceless enjoyment of one another’s company.

A large pizza with all the works is $25 from a local pizzeria. Though this is an expensive pie, it would be very costly for one to pay that much for one—five meals. Four to Eight friends go in together, the pizza becomes very inexpensive and the merriment is once more enjoyed.

Service industry tip (massage, hair, spa, yoga, fitness) Work out a trade: Ask these places where you would like to attend and gain from their services if you brought them 5, 10, 15 clients if you may receive something in exchange from their services. Another thought is ask them if there is a service we may trade them.

If we can out-think a “trade” “exchange” for what we need that will drive more success within our lives, we are one step further in change. Enhancing ourselves should always be performed with a fair exchange so that we continue to ascend farther on a higher path bettering our world.

Please share any self or observed experiences. Sometimes our self-awareness goes to the end of our own nose (if we have not experienced we do not know it is present). Through shared experience we each grow stronger.
