Venturing Off the beaten Mat
For many and many months now I have yearned with ways to share knowledge to others about TRUE happiness. I am a local yoga teacher for Columbia, Missouri. I have trained with a wonderful company, YogaFit, whom emphasizes safety and inclusiveness with their unique and blended American friendly style of yoga. Learning much, and much more to learn, I am ready to trully grow into a very diversified intructor.
I feel though to grow, I must immerse myself with new, old, borrowed, and "blue" as I approach to branch myself  this summer in great change. What this means is that I want to share new techniques that still have the familiar style from the basis of classic yoga 8 limbed styles to heal the bruised to heal. I have been teaching at a gym where yoga is a free thing to anyone who would like to come and see as a member. This is something I would love to continue to do for anyone and everyone that needs this form of movement and release and wants to commit to a gym setting. However, I feel that I have too many gifts to either change my style from week to week on my faithful gym members or keep my skills bottled up inside of myself. I have been beating my heart against my mat for months trying to find ways to reach out to help others and have come to a conclusion.
I have made the decision to open a Yoga wellness studio and have some of my most esteemed peers teach with me to heal people of my community and give them a vision and empowering sense to have more happiness in their lives. I ask the question: what can yoga do for you? What would you like more of in your life?
I believe that yoga holds so many answers to so many of our questions. The mere phrases release judgement, competition, and expectations have power alone to impart greatness and dissipate war and dispair from recession. By bringing together some very different approaches of healing and strengthening in yoga classes along with body mapping and learning foundational psychological principles and examining how to practice effective change, this is a yoga transformation that I believe will be for the greater good of all that embrace.
I am releasing this idea to everyone now and giving 30 days for everyone to welcome this new and amazing possibility. So many of us have things that we consider "problems" with our figure or mind (knees, hips, back, shoulder, wrists, headache, depression, infertility, and the list may go on). The new Yoga Wellness facility is going to put emphasis into healing these areas of the body, and challenging the mind with power and core classes set at defining and toning areas in the body to increase our vitality. Multi-leveled classes will exist from beginner to seasoned yogi so that everyone feels successful.
I invite everyone to venture with me off of the beaten mats, and travel into a transition, that will soon lead us to a place we can all call our own.

Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue...I love it! It is exactly how I have been thinking lately. I have practised many methods of yoga, meditation and spirituality in the past, and while they have all been useful, I have not found anything I feel is 'tailored' to me. Plus I feel a lot of emotional upheaval with so many of these programs. So no more following anyone! I have been taking bits and pieces from many religions and practices, and my knowledge of psychology and sociology, which I study at uni, and creating a new and more gentle method that works for me.

I will be venturing off the beaten mats with you!
