I LOVE tennis. Wait, let me be more specific. I love to WATCH tennis. You see, I can't play. I have taken lessons many times. I own a nice racquet; I have some great tennis outfits and some great tennis (real tennis) shoes. But, I can't play. I stink. Part of it is the fact that I'm really, really short. My friends call me an elf (angry elf on my bad days). Seeing over the net isn't always easy. The other part is I am completely out of shape, uncoordinated and I hurt my knee in an accident once. Oh and how I'm always distracted by the cute instructors. But no matter how many excuses I make, I still wouldn't be any good at tennis.
The thing is, I always get so self-conscious when I talk to people about the sport because the first question they ask is, "do you play?" Um no. No, I don't. I can hit balls with the machine but no, I don't play. And even though there are plenty of sports I watch that I don't play, take football and basketball for instance, tennis is the only one I feel like is should know how to play. I feel like I should be a tennis player. But, I'm not. So, I am relegated to the joys of the Tennis Channel and the Australian Open. I guess I really can't complain. I get lots of close ups of Roger Federer. What more could a girl ask for?

I am the total opposite of you who is not skilled at tennis as well:P[Well, opposite being that I am rather tall and a guy:P] And, I think I would enjoy playing tennis with you for that matter. It's a terrible shame that you ARE an elf though cuz I have a lil thing about short girls versus people my size(you know the old saying about picking someone your size). Otherwise I'd be extra bashful. I used to watch tennis. Now, I am a lil bored watching the ball go back and forth. I used to get a kick out of Monica Selis always screeching "Gor-BEE!" as if saying "Gorbachov!"...and it got better the more exhausted she became. The Williams sisters are like the latest tennis hotties and the first black starlets of the game. Sort of like Tiger Woods. Well, someday hopefully I will have someone I can be attracted to in those tennis outfits and enjoy playing the worst game of our lives:D Oh, and I too skinned my knee and spranged my toe badly last time I played. It was very hot out, but-gosh-I had stamina:)
