34 degrees
Hi,

Its Sunday, 34 degrees, and cloudy! UGH! I hope it won't snow, rain, sleet, or ice over!  My horses are doing fine with this weather, even though Spanks still has a few icky spots of fungus.  I bought some more fungus spray, and when it warms up (hopefully it will!) I'll spray the affected areas.  Luckily, none of them are covered by his blanket, so I can leave that on him for warmth!

Yesterday I actually went to Harbor Freight Tools, and bought a mini trailer.  Its a 3.5x4 foot trailer that will carry almost 1000 lbs.  I got it mainly to haul my lawnmower to the various places I want, like the repair place to get new tires and a tune up...and to mow BK's pasture.  Plus, I need to haul the minibeast in to have its oil changed and have the back tire looked at, and maybe have it replaced.

Yes, I know that I can do all that with my beloved Harrison...but let me ask you this:  Have you ever tried to get a 400 lbs lawnmower up a set of wooden planks into the bed of a half-ton pickup?  I have! By My Self...NOT FUN!  It can be done, but I don't recommend it!  I've also had to load and unload my scooter by myself, using the same method.  SOOOO, I spent a bit of money to make my life easier!  The bonus is that when I go get small bales of hay, I can load the truck AND the little trailer, instead of making two trips!  I wonder if my pony cart will fit on that little trailer???

Anyway, this little trailer came with lights and a certificate to get it titled! Even though this state does not call for trailers being titled, I will have it done anyway!  And, if the trailer turns out to be TOO small to do everything I need it to, I will sell it and get the next step up!

Why not use my horsetrailer, you ask?  My horsetrailer does not have a moveable middle divider, thus nothing wider than a horse (mower, handlebars, etc) simply won't fit into it!  I did use it to move my roundpen from the old barn to the new one!

Oh yeah, the other bonus to having the small trailer is that when my truck is broken for whatever reason, any one of my family's SUV's can pull it with no worries.  They all have the hitches that come 'standard' for that class of SUV, even though its not recommended to pull anything big (unless you have it fortified to pull more weight!).

Thats about all the exciting stuff I've done lately! Yeah, I know...I'm pathetic...but hey, it makes for amusing reading!

I almost forgot!  I finally got the raise they promised us in January! YAY!  Its not MUCH, but it sure makes me feel pretty good!  Ok, I guess I've run out of news now!

Bye

Hey you! The smaller trailer is a good idea. We have one and I would hate to not have it now. Also, I would hate trying load either a lawnmower tractor or a scooter into the back of any truck let alone yours. To high to lift or push heavy items up into. The little trailer will soon show you just how handy it can be for other things too. LOL! Ours gets used for everything!
