Can someone please try and explain to me why a complete stranger would make up lies about you just to get you in trouble at work? Really, please try, because I am dumbfounded. This lady wrote a letter to my boss explaining that she would not come back to see him due to the "rude" receptionist who was "provocatively dressed." Ok, wow. I don't know this lady from Adam and her bad day is rounded out by making up things about me just because she had to wait for the doctor. Um, for the record, I do not dress provocatively, especially at work because for some reason, older women find me a great topic of conversation to the doctor and they always, always have a note to slip to him mentioning something completely made up about me. The good thing is that my boss laughs it off--so I'm not in danger of losing my--ha ha--enviable job. Still, I am really hurt by this woman making things up about me and saying that I told her she could walk out the door if she wanted to. My question is, how many voices is she hearing in her head because I never said that! I mean, uh, I never say things like that to people--even people who I should! I kind of wish I had said it now! I'm pissed--I have just had enough of random glances and notes and whispers about me for NO REASON. When is it ever going to stop?! |
