 *good* morning...???
So yesterday, Saturday morning I wake up all happy and cheery the kids are playing and Andy is making breakfast, the world is awesome. I showered and got dressed for work, dried my hair, and kissed the kids good bye. Andy walked me out to my van, and gave me a kiss. I'm headed to work, yeah!! I had a really busy morning ahead of me and sort of dreading it, but happy that my day would pass quickly. And then my honey calls, I'm all of a half a block from home, I just got through the first red light. I pulled over and grabbed my phone, all I hear is Andy saying "you need to come home." He isn't yelling, or freaking out, he's not crying, and the kids were quiet. I asked the usual, what's wrong, what happened, why do I need to come home. Andy says to me as calm as can be "Jonah is bleeding, and you need to get back here." I didn't question him, he was a marine, if something is wrong and he wants me here, it's ugly. He can fix boo boo's very well and very quickly, he definitly doesn't need my help. So I called work and got yelled at cause we were so busy how I could I call in for any reason?!?!? Bla Bla Bla, I told them I would let them know when I could make it in if at all, I didn't know what was going on yet. I came home and walked through the patio door, and there is Andy sitting calmly on the couch playing with my son, who is covered and I mean covered in blood. He fell in his playroom, and when he fell he hit his nose on one of thier buckets for thier toys, and literally ripped the tip of his nose almost completely off. It was kind of hanging there by this flap of skin, it was gross. So, I called work first and told them to call someone else in I had to take him to the hospital to get stitches, and I wouldn't be there. I called Emergency services to get directions to the nearest hospital, as we just moved here, I don't know these things yet. I got my directins and we're only like 7 minutes form the hospital, this is good news. Any helps me load up the bleeding baby into his car seat, I grab bags with diapers and clothes, my purse, etc and we bolt out the door. On my way to the hospital I call my mother, and fill her and promise to call again as soon as I know what is happening. In the end we did 3 x-rays, nothing is broken or burst inside, everything was intact, except for that flap of skin. : ) They had to call plastic surgery down to fix it, because the ER dr was afraid that he would leave a big scar. Now, all we had to do was figure out how to keep him still, 14 months, 23.8 pounds. Do you wanna hold him down?!?!? We sedated the little man, and he went into lala land while the doctor fixed him all up, and he left the hospital with 10 stitches, and some pretty good swelling. Chubby as we all fondly call him, was happy and smiling all through all of this, the nurses got a kick out of him and even brought someone down from pediatrics just to meet this happy baby with part of his nose missing. He was such a champ, he cried when it forst happened, and then Andy picked him up and told him it will be ok, we'll call mommy, and he stopped crying, and his world was good. All together we were at the hsopital for 5 hours yesterday and when we left we went to mommy's work to show off to the ladies what he had done, and then got some lunch and went home. He took a short nap and then we had dinner, he played and smiled and walked around as if he had never fallen. I called his father down in Ohio, who proceeded to cry and ask about plastic surgery, "can they fix him??" I said they already did, he replies "no, I mean the scar, can they go in and get rid of it and make him look normal again?" There is a point in some phone calls where you just wanna slap that person, and it sucks that you can't get through a phone, this was one of those times. I won't bore all of you with my serious yelling and useless arguing, but we hung up and I was happy to have him not in my ear anymore. Andy and I make such an awesome team that I don't even notice how ugly everything could have been if it had been Pat here with the kids when Jonah fell, he cried when chubby bumped his head on the door. This morning has been much more peaceful, Jonah is eating his breakfast and Annabell is visiting with him. I am gonne close this and call the grandparents that all want to know how a little guy is doing this morning....have a great day every one, and enjoy the pics....
