That's what I had this week. Correction- still have. My voice is going in and out. I would often lose it in the middle of a sales pitch, which was really embarrassing. I had to take two days of sick leave even though I wasn't sick enough to be hospitalized... I mean, how can you sell stuff if you're hacking and coughing and sneezing and losing your voice???
I hope I still get paid, though.
My little brother went to the US for the summer. We took him to the airport yesterday. Even though I don't see him much when he's here, it's still a bit sad knowing he's actually in a different country rather than in a friend's house. I wish I could get away with calling him from the office phone because long-distance calls are free (duhh) hehe.. and I'm resigning anyway so it's not like they'll want to go to the trouble of terminating me. Hm, have to think about this...
Meanwhile, one of the Quality Coaches asked for my cellphone number from one of my teammates (who didn't make a secret of it- he yelled it out! That's Outbound Sales for you :p). I think P is cute and he made this thing earlier which kind of made me look at him like... well, it set him apart, anyway. He could've come out as an A-hole but it struck me as funny.
As my supervisor, he was verifying my sale when suddenly he became very quiet & serious and said the customer didn't want to go through anymore. I knew it was a risky deal because the customer really had no need for another phone even though it was practically for free.
He really had a very serious look, and I kind of felt like Oh sh** I'm in trouble..
My teammates were looking at us because it was a bit of a crucial sale- my first and I needed it to help make the quota for the team instead of being deadwood (?). Plus, it was unusual for one of the Quality Coaches to verify a sale. I leaned in prayer-like on his armrest and tried to hear what the customer was saying because P sure as hell wasn't making any rebuttals.
Then he stood up and said "Dispose that as a sale." I was like, What? Quality is telling me to scam?? I was really confused and I kep asking him if I was really supposed to do that. Finally, he cracked and admitted it was a sale and he was just making "pa-cute." Arrgh!
Did it work? Well, maybe... I'm still stuck on R, though. He's in the other shift now so we don't see each other much these days. He did say hi earlier, and I was so surprised that I just replied with a cool "Uy long time." Like I was his girlfriend whom he'd neglected to call last night or something. Kakahiya! hahaha
He just said "O nga e". There was a bit of awkward silence, like neither of us knew what to say after that. So I bent over the cooler to get water na and another agent came by. Next thing I know, R is gone. The really weird thing is, to me it felt like he was the one who approached. His new station was near the cooler and he saw me coming with my water bottle. He then took off his headphones and got to the cooler first. He filled his cup just a little bit and stood by. He had to know I was going there.
Then I finally went to my own station and kind of looked around for him while I was waiting for my computer to get started. Ok, I was looking in the general direction of his station. He was really gone, I thought sadly. Then a teammate asked me something and I had to turn around- horrors, he was behind me! He was calmly sitting by the window and looking at me!!! I wanted to find a hole and crawl into it.
This is getting so weird. I'm going to miss it, though. It's the little things that get you through the day.. : )
