| 3 is a crowd, well maybe not |
Lately I have been having trouble feeling like I "fit" at my workplace. It will be a year in September since I was hired and I am wondering will I ever be apart of the crowd. I have very few friends and by few I really mean few.
I am perfectly nice to everyone and always willing to lend a helping hand. On a daily basis I go out of my way to be extra helpful to anyone. I think one difference between me and "them" is my work ethic. I actually go to work to, well, work. I know, a concept that is truly difficult for some to comprehend.
Another is I don't partake on graphic talk that goes on in the office. Hmmm, I think we all know the human anatomy by now for both sexes, what things are called and how these things well are used and perform. I think you can clearly get my drift.
Again, didn't we all graduate from high school like almost 10 years ago, although for some it's been longer. Though, you can hardly tell the difference. It's always gossip central, in hushed voices telling each other, who's in trouble, who's going to get fired, and anything else that they got on other people.
So, are all these differences enough to make someone like me, seem so alienated? What's the deal why I am treated so different?
Here's what I came up with today at work. Maybe it's not so bad to be set apart from others, to be different from the rest of the crowd. If I am so complacent with what goes on around me I would never search for something different something more.
I am not calling the other people at my work all complacent it's just why always be apart of the crowd. Especially, when I tend to think it may not be better to become a member. I want to be a leader, not a follower. I may comply with the rules set out by my employer the polices and procedures but, I do not follow them in my daily life. The only one I follow is Jesus, he is the true leader.
Even, if the rest of my days suck at work at least I will always have a friend in Jesus. We have a a greater connection. He will always, understand me, and when I make a mistake he will always forgive me. He helps me be a become a better person period.
