MADRID (Reuters Life!) - Spanish bullfighter Cayetano
Rivera will sport a glittering costume made especially for him
by Italian designer Giorgio Armani when he takes part in the
"Corrida Goyesca" bullfight in Ronda, Andalusia on September 6.
Cayetano's satin "suit of lights," the bullfighter's
traditional costume, will be in Armani's hallmark shade of
greyish beige embroidered with sequins, crystals and silver
thread, Cayetano and Armani said in separate statements.
The 31-year-old, who comes from a long line of famous
bullfighters, has appeared in advertisements for Armani joining
other celebrities from the sporting world who have worked with
the designer like British soccer player David Beckham.
The annual "Corrida Goyesca" fight in Ronda's historic
bullring has numbered U.S. actor Orson Welles and author Ernest
Hemingway among its spectators.
Fighters wear costumes from the era of 18th Century painter
Francisco Goya.
Spanish painter Pablo Picasso designed the suit of lights
costume for Cayetano's grandfather Antonio Ordonez for the same
event around 50 years ago.
