Nasdaq sinks after bearish broker note

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Nasdaq slid nearly 2 percent on Thursday as technology shares wilted after a bearish brokerage view on the semiconductor sector.

Indexes stayed near session lows following reports on a November gauge of factory activity in the U.S. Mid-Atlantic region and October leading indicators.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> dropped 137.17 points, or 1.32 percent, to 10,289.14. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> fell 17.45 points, or 1.57 percent, to 1,092.35. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> declined 41.39 points, or 1.89 percent, to 2,151.75.
