march 28th-30th, Taupo trip

Katie and i went to Taupo, wehre they have a huuuuuge lake and lots of stuff to do. Primarily my reason for goin there was to sky dive, they have the cheapest sky diving in nz. we left early on a friday morning, and we both stayed up all night , well i got 2 hours of sleep, so we could sleep the 6 hour bus ride. it worked for me! the second we got on... (after a delicious mcdonalds breakfast) i passed out, and didnt' wake up till we entered taupo, of course i got up for a toilet break in the middle.

Friday night we just got to our backpackers hostile, ate out, adn then saw a movie, we saw step up two! the crump and break dancing movie with sexy guys and girls in. It was very good. movies here cost typically $12.50. DANG!

we took it easy that night, and went to a sport bar next door and watched the big rugby game all of our friends nad roomates went to. Hurricanes vs. Crusaders, (Wellington vs. Christchurch) and supposably christchurch was gonna whoop our buts. we had a beer, ate some appetizers and met some older couples who were realy funny and nice who shared a beer with us.

Saturday we got up early and went Horseback riding, I've only gone once before in costa rica so i was a begginner for sure, and katie on the other hand used to have horses and rode lots and lots of times. They of course put me on a horse that is pretty dang naughty and very competetive and a control freak with the other horses. they are supposed to follow one another in a line, but mine likes to try to pass them up and piss them off, bite other ones, constantly stop and eat, and not listen to the owners, PERFECT for a beginner, NOT. I was loving the horse riding it was great, we went through woods and i got to see geysers ( boiling mud holes/craters). we were with 4 others and two guides. A dad and his daughter around 5 years old and a cute young couple. we were all begginners except katie. we were riding a lil over an hour, and at the last part we coudl just continue going slow, or try Trotting and Cantaloping i believe its called, when they run and its smoother than a trot run. so i of course liek adventrue and went for it, cuase i figure i gotta try everything ones. both was it hard to stay on. they really get goin, esp mine tryin to race and cut others off which was scary and annoying, the guide was gettin quite upset with my horse, I DONT" BLAME HIM. Next thing i know were doing a hilly area, and i'm feeling a lil unsteady when we go fast, and my horse does a jolt motion kind of stopping and starting int he middle of his sprint!

I lose my feet in the stirups and am holding on a like bull rider, i'm laying on him holding on to his neck and mane area. next thing i know i fall off to the left, get kicked on the way down, and then in my head thinkin omg please just dont' step on me! but he did right about my left ankle/shin area. Then all i can quick think is oh god two more horses behind me... dont' step on m e! luckily they didn't. I jumped up real fast and brushed myself off. i was just a lil shooken but not too bad, just dirty. I got back on and just could feel my left leg was sore. I continued the rest and when we got back and were done, i relized blood was comin through my jeans. I had a nice big would from his horse shoe.

later thta night walking was Killing me!

I still liek horse riding but there tough animals to trust. and can be so dangerous. I'm very lucky that he dindt' step on my ribs or somewhere worse!

After horseback riding, our van driver had to pick up others so he stopped and let us get out to lookat Huka FAlls. BEAUTIFUL fresh water just rushing down stream and into the lake adventually. We also got to see the dam that was opened and enormous amounts just rushing down! Brighteest blue ever, you woudlnt' believ eit was fresh water

Next we went to a cafe that is an art cafe! perfect for me! i loveeeee crafts. You coudl pick any pottery out and paint it to get it fired, so youd have your own hand painted ceremics, Katie did two frapacinio cups, adn i did a sugar bowl! they will get mailed to us somtime soon.

Since i was in pain, we just chilled in our room that night and were goofballs being dorks and what not. this hostile was better becuase we only payed liek 3 dollars more and we had a three bedroom room, and our own toilet and shower. The last one we were in a 8 bedroom room, and shared a bahtroom with males and femles about 20!

Sunday was the big day i was gonna sky dive. I got picked up by a limo (free from skydive place) and met a really cool girl from Holland whos been traveling for 9 months now. been to a lto of places. we were all excited and both ended upgraded our original plan fro 12 thousand feet to a 15 thousand feet jump to the full package of a movie and shirt and the whole shabang. Your first jump is never liek any others. you have all the natural drugs in yoru body flowing and the most adreniline rush you can ever imagine. The videos are amazing they do, you pick the music, and they film you through the whole process.

We sat and waited becuase they had to make a "weather " call becuase there were clouds out. Of course to our luck... no one was gonna get to jump, the cloud woudlnt' move! ... haha now i'll just have to go back cusae i gotta do it... and jet boat rides that go 360 turns around the huka falls, lieka roller coster in a giant speed boat! SWEEET AZ. (new zealand slang) just meaning cool... or really cool... woudl be MEAN... that ride was MEAN haha

Sunday and monday my leg bruised from below my knee all the way to the bottom of my foot. and was HUGE. got really swallon all over my foot, calve, and ankle.

Went to student heath and got put on 6 antibiodicts a day,out of school the whole week, not supposed to walk on it at all, and have to go to the dr. back everyday! blood work, need physical therapy for my shoulder (fell on that as well off the horse) and also gotta see a rheumatoligist as well. boy oh boy. ahah but todays wednesday the 2nd of april and the swelling has gone down and its not as painful... the calve also is't rock hard and swallon anymore.. so thats good.

oh and i've been hangin out wtih a new zealand boy i met one night... he is my age and dosent' go to school cuase hes a plumber :) haha but hes really fun and i've been enjoying his company latly.

This friday is a cocktail party at our neighbors house with ordurves and such, Andrew (new zealand boy) is gonna be my date. haha :)
