Well said. I watched one of those shows before and I was appalled. This is why I am glad I no longer own a tv. Anything on it anymore annoys the hell out of me or just pisses me off in general. Especially the entity known as Mtv. First of all it no longer is Music TV as it once was back when it first started. They glamorize acting like a drunken fool or a whore and feed it to your children by the spoonful. They must haven gotten a lot of flack for the Sweet 16 show because the next year they sent some of those girls over to third world countries for a couple of days. Still the damage was done.
Like many people from my generation I grew up in front of the television, but luckily I began reading when I was 4 and books replaced TV for me. I don't have any children yet but their interaction with the television will be very limited. I don't want to raise another generation using the television as a babysitter and I hope others don't as well.
