Working Late

With the holidays season and 3 weeks off work, it's just sooo hard to go back. It probably wouldn't be so bad if I don't have so much stuff to do on the first day I'm back. Not that I hate my work, I honestly don't and I don't think a lot of people can say that. My work is pretty interesting and most of all, the people that I work with are so nice. I am not talking about your coworker nice kind of thing, they are more like friends that you can count on, especially after all night of drinking.

So, today with all the busy-ness and lazy-ness, I cancelled all my meetings with the excuse that I have all these projects due. But, hey, who would call a meeting on the first day that everyone's back at work. What an overachiever. Also, it's not like we're totally in needs of having meetings, it's more like an annoyance. Why do you have to call a meeting (that takes at least an hour) when you can write a 5 sentence email that explains everything. What is the point of having 5 people talking at once over the phone and at the end, after all the yelling and still getting nothing across. And, then at the end, someone has to summarize the meeting and send out action items, what is the point. Why can't we just skip all that, and just send the friggin email.

Yeah, so I stayed late at work and I skipped lunch. I know, I know what you're thinking. Boo hoo...what a complainer, complaining about small sacrifices that I have to make. I am not complaining, it's more like why do we have to do things so inefficiently. Why do you have to go to work at 8 and then go to lunch at 12. Why even go to the office at all. Why is everything related to work have to be so rigid. I mean we're all educated grown up adults, why do we need all these rules and regulations so that we can perform. The only reason that the company hires you is that you needs to give results, good results. So, why can we just choose when to go to work, where to work and what needs to be done. It seems like just because certain people prefer having that rigid regulations, not all people likes that.

Well, so, today I stayed sulkingly at work by myself while everyone (we're talking about all the overachievers) left to watch the LSU v. OSU game. I have to stay and eat my leftover lunch because my stomach starting to growl. It's sad but at least I feel like I accomplish something after sitting around the whole 3 weeks at home and watching all rerun shows.
