After watching the rugby world final last night along with several other million people, the thing that I have to say that impressed me more than anything was the English team and coaches attitudes.
Though obviously gutted about the result, what lovely lovely people and even gracious in defeat. Even when given the opportunity to debate whether the try was a try or not Mark Cueto simply answered that it wasn't a try if the ref said it wasn't. (Also how nice to hear people who can actually string an intelligent conversation together!)
What a change this is, footballers and the football managers really have got a lot to learn. They often really go to town on the referee in the post match interviews and back their players up even when they were clearly in the wrong.
Surely we should be encouraging and praising this sporting behaviour and not encouraging the "yob" culture often seen in football.
Such a shame that these men have not got a higher profile (and bigger wage packet!) and are role models for more of our young people.
