What would you do?
My and my husband were talking kind of about morbid things....

If there was a problem during birth and he had to choose between saving me and saving the baby he wouldn't know what to do.

I started thinking about it too. That would be the hardest thing to decide. I think I would save the mom, me, since we could always have more children or adopt or what ever but once your lover is gone that is it. It's over...

What would you do?

I think that is a good reason but I think that if you were in that position then it was meant to be. Plus the mother has already had a life but the baby hasn't been given that chance yet. I would save the child.

Your husband would not be given this choice. The doctor would save the mother. There could be more children, but the loss of this one would be hard.

Save the baby. Otherwise it's glorified abortion.
The doctor would do what they could to save both, then if it was iminent that one wouldn't make they would probably try to save the baby

MFH and I had the exact same conversation. I'm not pregnant yet, but it has been something I've always wondered. I would choose to save the Mom in any situation. MFH on the other hand said he'd choose the baby. This crushed me. At the same time I'm happy to know how much he'll cherish our children when they are brought into this world. But in the meantime it has me somewhat panicking about what might happen if I'm not concious and he has to make the decision. This was actually something I was going to post about! Thanks for bringing it up!

I just read the comments on this post and I see that we are in the minority, if you have any info that the doctor has talked to you about regarding this issue would you please message me or send me mail letting me know. It is a huge concern weighing on my mind. Thank you.

I don't think it's really a choice. It seems that when this happens they work on saving both and destiny takes it's course. My mom passed away during childbirth and I was told they didn't really have a choice of saving her vs. me, it was try for both and pray for the best.

I would save the mother because then the child wouldn't have to suffer anyways and could go to a better place.
