Sweetie..How old are you? You are a tad insensitive to the plot of others. Now that's all fine and dandy, however soemtimes people are looking for HELP when they talk about suicide. Perhaps you could just click off of their page, or maybe don't click on it at all. At the least do the humane thing and keep your mouth shut. Didn't you see Bambi..Father always says if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. You have the right to say what you think, but heaven forbid you send some struggling soul over the edge with your comments. Peace :) shemelts
P.S. Just a month ago one of my son's friends shot herself in the head..he is changed forever. Maybe you could have helped her, but nooooo you would have said: "haven't you shot yourself yet, My God, get on with it"..hmmm

I think you have some maturing to do. Read a little on psychology and work on growing and understanding others. People that say they are going to kill themselves may be seeking attention but you never know what there life is like or how much sadness they truly feel. They may need support and this may be where they get it.

You so desperately need a clue; really, you are clue-free. Did it ever occur to you that even if the suicide ploy is just for attention, THAT, in itself, is a true problem? Believe it or not, there are people in this world, whom you obviously have not met, that don't think ANYONE cares whether they live or die. I have met these people on many occasions in my paramedic days, and let me tell you, they usually come from pretty bad lives. Count yourself blessed to feel loved without resorting to such measures, and quit freakin' judging everyone on the planet. Oh, and while you're searching for that clue, why don't you see if you can muster up a heart as well? I think you are a sad representative of our military.

Don't let these guys push too hard, mrsdragonseal.

As one who has worked in mental hygiene, I can tell you that suicidal behaviors can accompany many emotional disturbances, including depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. More than 90% of all suicides are related to a mood disorder or other psychiatric illness.

Now, what people either do not know or afraid to say is, these types are responsible for homicides as well. I for one would much rather one who doesn't believe life worth living blow their own brains out instead of murdering someone who wants to live.

So you see you're not a mean person. You just say what you believe. Don't every let these enablers stop you from doing that.

I disagree, Bob-o......while it's true that most people who commit or attempt suicide suffer from a form of mental illness (a fact that doesn't require corroboration by a rocket scientist), the highest percentage of those who perpetrate violence on themselves are the paranoid schizophrenics. Not that bipolar or depressed people don't ever do it, they are usually much more content to hurt themselves, unless they have some type of sociopathic etiology as well. And anyway, look it up....mistreatment and abuse of any form of these potential suicidalists is more likely to drive them to harm others, and then themselves. Geez.

Correction: paranoid schizos are known for attacks on others......Hinkley, Jr. for example. Sorry about the typo.

Say what you want and learn not to apologize for it. Realize, however, that your opinions will most likely change as you grow - not just on this topic, but on MOST topics.
Unless you've been on the other side of those suicidal blogs, it's not really your place to state their intentions. Hell, just because I suffer from depression doesn't give me the right to speak on behalf of every person with depression, let alone those who have some other mental illness.
Recognize your place in this universal dialogue and talk about something you know.

Imagine it was your CHILD that was saying these things ... How would you feel if someone like you said something like that to YOUR child ... I think you'll change your opinion once your child is born.
You may not like another person's view on their own life - but you need to respect what harsh words could do...

WHAT IF? this person talking about suicide just needed to hear something positive to change their mind and know that there are people who care about them. WHAT IF? it changed just one persons mind by reading a encouraging message from a complete stranger. WHAT IF????
I hope you never have to go through the death of a friend or family member that has committed suicide. I had a friend that talked about suicide for years and years and then one day they found her with a bullet in her head laying in the bath tub. If it is attention they seek, WHAT IF? they got enough that they may choose to live.
Just something to think about.

Do you write for attention?

You are such an idiot. I know you are talking about me. I was really depressed when I wote the blog and survey. I didnt write it for attention. I was really considering kinlling myself. How can yu be so insensitive to others feelings? You are such a bitch.

What you have to realise is yes, in a lot of cases it is all about the attention. Either way it should never be taken lightly. Just because someone wants to die, it doesn't me the aren't affraid of actually killing themselves. Who's to say that one day they may actually get brave enough to actually do it.

Shit when I was a teenager, i had moments I felt the same way...things were shitty at home so on...and yes sweetie it was about attention. One day I decided to actually OD on pills. Thinking I would simply fall asleep and die in my sleep and it wouldn't seem so scary. While laying there I realised I didn't want to die. It scared me. LUCKILY my parents were home so I could tell them what I did. I was rushed to the ER and had my stomach pumped. Now say I had been alone, I may not have made it.

So you see, yes sweetie it may be about attention but there are cases to where it leads to actual suicide.

God Bless!

Just because your life is so perfect and cheery doesn't mean everyone elses is! some people-including me- do contemplate suiceide and sometimes they act on it, but other times they realize their problems arent so horrible and decide to live. Have some heart will you?!?! If the people i talked about my problems with were like this i probably would have killed myself a long time ago. Stop being a bitch and get over yourself.
