 Saving
One thing I always tried to do was save.  Since I knew nothing about money, I put my money in a plain old savings account.  I was able to accumulate money to pay tuition & to pay cash for a used car.  The college I attended  required volunteer work, as well.  So, I not only spent time volunteering in afterschool projects,  I also paid for some of the supplies used in the events.  The money I accumulated never went beyond the $2000 or $3000 mark b/c I would end up needing to pay tuition or replace my old car.  The thing I accomplished during this period of my life (18 - 22 yrs old) was I stayed debt free while getting an education.

Lesson # 4 --  Save & stay debt free.
