| Dating Instructions from Paul |

"But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them.
They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women, who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires, always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose t he truth—men of depraved minds, who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men, their folly will be clear to everyone."-2 Timothy 3:1-9
I read this verse and I am immediately reminded of what I see go on today. Often I see week willed women fall for these kinds of men in the dating world. I have a twin sister which makes me view women with more respect and love than most men. This is why it saddens me greatly to see so many young women fall for men who most of the times are just like what Paul described to Timothy in this verse. Often what makes me really sad is men like this sometimes claim they are Christians. They claim to have good intentions, but their only intentions are to control their women; they claim to respect their women, but constantly try to have premarital sex with them; they claim to be a good father or leader of the household, but they stay home Sunday mornings while the rest of their family goes to church; They claim to have self control, but often times lash out in anger just to display their own toughness, or ego; they claim to be wise, but forget that true wisdom comes from God; they claim to be tough, but forget true strength comes from Jesus. And yet despite all of these things many young women go for these men because they believe they have “good intentions” or they are “trying” and yet the Bible says you can tell who some one is based on the fruit they bear, meaning what they accomplish and how they live their lives. It is time for women to start being strong willed and search for men who are not looking for a woman to satisfy them, but are looking for a woman who will walk with him in the path of righteousness, who will walk with him as they both follow Jesus. I write this for two reasons. First to challenge men out there to no longer live for the mere pleasures and lust of this world, but who will stand up as men and be leaders in the sight of God and lead others on the path of righteousness, which includes being humble, self controlled, loving, kind, patient, able to take care of their family, able to manage their household, and willing to die for their spouse. Second I challenge women to no longer put their faith, hope, and love in men, but instead give your heart to Christ.
"In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived. But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation
