the spaniel i had as a kid went under the knife twice, it was like that scene from jaws, when they cut the shark open, she had eaten a tube of toothpaste, two pairs of tights (stockings) and vairious other things she had found in the bin!

you just know when its forever, but you dont suddenly click and say 'hey this is it!' you just realise one day that you are more than comfortable together, and you will learn to at least like the silly things he says, we all have to get used to our partners annoying habbits and they way they handle emotional stuff, especially with words!
good luck, and i hope you have found the one, and you are right, there is no point in holdng out for the perfect man, because until you come to know each other completely and see if you fit together you will not know if he is perfect for you.
but enjoy the differences, perfect would be dull, and i think you know it!
besides we are all annoying, i know i drive him nuts with my silly habbits xx

thankyou DS, i am starting to miss these dreams when i don't have them, but perhaps i am trying to hard and thinking to much about them!
i really don't know what it means, i think its like the others in that it is refering to how little i see of himself with work being so busy, maybe now he is going to have a few days off is why i actually conversed with the mystery man in my dreams, but perhaps i am thinking this time off is to good to be true which is maybe why i can't accept the surroundings...hmmm not to sure, lets assume its something very mysterious and i will find out what it all means in the next dream!

there have been so many suicide threats on here i think most of us know by now that trying to talk someone out of suicide is pointless, we have to show compassion and friendship and hope that the hand of friendship may be enough to make them think twice about it, give them something to hope for, sometimes telling someone that they have things to stay for reminds them that maybe they dont, so its best to just be a friend, show some kindness and just be there for them,

when someone is in that state of pain and self pity, it can be very hard to get through to them that there is a light waiting at the end of the tunnel, it takes a very strong person to be strong enough to fight someone elses demons, you can be pushed away time after time, you may take the blame for a part of the pain, but in the end, when that person see's the light and see's that there can be a life after pain, then the realisation of truth is rewarded to you, and gratitide is never nessesary, just seeing someone who was so close to the brink who can now stand up and say, i am ok, i am somebody and i will not give up, is more than enough reward for being a friend and a guiding light,
Ds, i have seen you be that light for so many, i have seen you take the blame and be pushed away, but i have also seen the rewards you recieved for not giving up on those you have helped, even when it becomes a long hard journey, and you may feel like giving up yourself, you never do, i know you have never given up on anyone, even though you have your own pain to deal with.
i am so very proud of you, and yes a little jelous that you have so much strength for others and for yourself

in the uk they have recently banned decorations in the work place so as not to offend other religions, and there are a few other new policies that ban any traditional english celebrations! i just wonder when it will be our turn as the new 'minority' to complain that our traditions and ceremonies are being offended by others!

as i child, i wasn't christened and in the Uk, your average family isn't strictly religeous, i was taught about religion in school, and learned about the devastation that religion has caused on the news and Tv, and throughout my life i have been drawn to different churches, the one that stood out the most to me was the catholic church, purely because of the massive community i witnessed in liverpool, who were very kind, friendly and had fun with their beliefs and in church..but as we all know a catholics life is filled with guillt and confession, in the end i realised that i probably would never find a religion that suited my personal needs, and i thought, well thats me screwed! no heaven for me, i believed in god, but until i met Ds, i didn't realise that belief was enough! now i know that i don't have to be a member of a church or organisation to believe in God and recently i am viewing all those things in a different way, knowing that i believe is enough for me, if i want to be part of a comunity then i have my friends and family, and inside i have my beliefs!
does that make any sence atall?

It would be interesting to ask a highly religeous person if they believe that any mythical creature such as a giant ever exsisted!
I believe that there are things in life that we aren't meant to understand, things which are meant to be hidden from us, if we knew for sure what God's plan was/is then there would be no point to life, people would be running around, trying their hardest to get the best seat in heaven, encouraging rivalry and anger, plus we would all find it easier to give up as human beings if we were sure there was somewhere else to go after we are finished living, maybe that is why certain religions say that suicide is a sin, because they think that the true, diehard believers would be in a hurry to die!
DS, i think you have the best veiw, to live life filled with love and to spread love at every opertunity, because it is the only feeling 'to feel loved' that makes living this life esier and more pleasant, if love didn't exsist then i think that no one would have the strength to get up and get on with it everyday, be it your love for someone or their love for you, or even a desperate search to be loved or love someone, when even the most unhappy of lives are filled with love that they probably aren't even aware of! even if it is just inside them desperate for a release!

oh honey, i feel tears inside after reading that, it is very brave of you to write this, and now you have, you might actually start to feel better.
it seems the silver lining being that you made some wonderful friends from a bad situation, and as you discovered, it is usually the bullies that are disliked the most, and they may have destroyed your confidence, but you survived.
the catch 22 when being bullied, that still bugs me today, is that the victim knows if they tell anyone it may make things worse, but i think your mother handled it perfectly.
i hope you wont let 'Lucy' haunt you forever, i'm sure she is a very unhappy person in her heart, people like that usually are x
it was worth the wait, maybe a bully will read this and realise how much they can destroy lives and maybe get a conscience x hugs x

As kids, i think we have all been guilty of assuming our parents have money all the time, and i guess it is there job to teach us the value of money, your parents sound like they worked really hard, not just for money, but for their kids respect and to make you proud.
As we become adults we realise how hard it must have been for our parents to feed us, clothe us and spoil us on special occasions, but they did it,
i am very proud of my parents, i might be useless with money, but i saw how hard they worked too.
Well done Roe, a post like this reminds us all how much our parents sacrificed for us kids.
