my jobs

i have many jobs. some of them i hate, some i love and i have a love/hate relationship with all of them lol.

first, and more importantly, i'm a mother. i take care of three teenagers that have lost there way due to where we're living and who we're living with. it's a hard job to try and teach your kids that lying and manipulating is not the way when they are seeing their grandparents do it and get away with it. i've realized recently where all the stealing is coming from. they steal my money so my kids think it's ok to do it. my oldest is the most responsible and i don't have many problems outa her except stubborness. so i thank God for that every day. so besides the everyday fighting which seems to go on constantly, i have to guide them to not do what they are doing. it makes it very hard when you can't discipline the one's who started it. i also have to fight constantly for my rights as a mother with my own family. they seem to think that they can be in control of my children. they are always taking the authority away from me. if i punish them, they let them off of it without consulting me first. so it's a constant battle to try and teach the kids that they have to listen to their mother when every one else is telling them she has no say in anything.

2nd, i'm a web designer. i rarely ever get a job doing that. if it's not my father trying to take jobs away from me, it's my father butting his nose in and trying to take the job for himself and the customer goes somewhere else. i am certified. he is not. which makes it a lil irritating. i pushed myself so hard to become certified. it's like learning a whole new language. i love doing it tho. i have made several templates in the long time spans between jobs. altho they are very simple. they are nothing like what is out there today. ya know, all the interactive websites. i like keeping it simple tho. ppl are only going to spend an average of 30 seconds up to a minute on a site and if they can't find what they are looking for then they move on to another one with what they want that's easy to find. i am specifically certified in XHTML and have learned CSS which i've been brushing up on lately. i know how to apply SEO and hook up with hosting and domain. i used to work for a friend in kentucky but that only went so far. so i've been trying to venture on my own with it but haven't been seeing alot of ppl who want a website. mostly i get ppl who want me to do an adult site for them but i'm very uncomfortable doing that seeing i'm working out of my home and have children. most ppl just want quotes and i never hear from them again. i do have a website up. it's off of my father's page. i need to desprately revamp the entire thing. but i guess if your interested the addy is www.techbearbiz.com/missi. it's actually the first site i have ever made. i have also helped my father with his site and helped on a wedding cake site for my friend in kentucky. that addy is www.weddingcakeskentucky.com. i've had lots of experience just not anything i can put into a portfolio. i once did a site for a lady, for her job as an accountant/taxes, but it has long been removed off the web. oh and as you can see with this last site, i can do graphics, pics, etc.

3rd, i'm a part-time uncertified computer tech. i know how to find out what's wrong with your computer and fix it. whether it's hardware or software. i know how to build a computer from scratch and make it work the first time and if not, i have the patience to start all over and try again. i know how to deal with many virus problems. which there are new ones that come out everyday. i swear no one has anything else better to do with their life than to maliciously destroy your computer. i used to date a guy who did that. well, we dated until he found out that my computer was like fort knocks lol. anyway, i can diagnose what the problem is, fix it or if it can't be fixed i can referb it with new parts and software and scrap the bad parts.

4th, and i think last lol. i am a secretary for a computer tech. i answer phones and make calls out to customers. i get necessary things in order for a job. set up appoinments. take care of all the paperwork. which seems to be endless. i order parts/ship parts. i connect ppl with the software they need for a specific task. i do alot of data entry. i also do alot of printing for ppl like making copies, banners, flyers, business cards, etc. i do alot of graphics work. hell, i even know how to make videos. i also know alil about networking. so i try to help out with that when i can.

ok i have one more job lol.
5th, i teach ppl who are computer challanged how to use their computers. you would be surprised at how many ppl don't know how to use a computer these days. you would think, with it being a big computer era that more would know how to. i teach basic XHTML web design. i teach ppl how to use certain software and basic maintainance for their computers.

i think that's about it. i do all that in a days work. now i need a vacation. the bad part is, with all my jobs, i get paid almost next to nothing. i can't even afford a vacation.
