| My son gets a Big Brother!

They called me today from the Big Brother Big Sister program to tell me they finally found a match for my son after having been on the waiting list for over a year. Finally!! Now I just have to wait for them to set up that first initial meeting which will be awkward I think. I have never been comfortable with the idea of my son being with a stranger. I am so petrified someone will molest him or something and then I will go to jail for killing a motherfucker and leave my other one without a mother. He needs this though. He needs a male role model in his life and hopefully this will make a difference if even just a little. He is at that stage now where he is becoming a young man and going through puberty and all that good stuff. He wants to go outside and throw around the ball and mom can’t do that without throwing her back out so what good am I? I don’t expect this to be the answer to all his adolescent issues but I sure hope it helps. I have never heard any horror stories when it comes to the BBBS program so I guess I need to calm my nerves and let my son have a good time. Right?
