HDTV & ComCast.....
I've just recently learned that Comcast has really got us all by the short ones when it comes to Cable TV.
Is anyone out here old enough to remember the advent of cable TV...... I remember visiting in Penn. in the late 70's early 80's. They had a form of TV down there that was GREAT...... It did cost you money to get it, but guess what........ IT was COMMERCIAL free..... It was called CABLE TELEVISION....... that's right NO COMMERCIALS.....
What a cool concept..... and to beat that the reception was CRYSTAL clear.....
I couldn't wait for it to get to the Michigan area......
Now, here I am some 30 years later and Technology has erupted for years now.
Now I'm paying over $120.00 a month to Comcast for services.....
I, like everyone else wants to enjoy the Beauty of digital TV, so I bought a 50" HDTV. I visited my local Cable Company (Comcast) and picked up a digital box and had them set up HDTV service for me.
Now when hooking up my NEW HDTV with all new cables looking to see a real life CRYSTAL CLEAR picture, I come to find out that my cable box doesn't even have a HDMI port on it. HDMI, for those of you that don't know is the cleanest way to send your signal from the box to the TV.
So, in calling Comcast back, they say "Oh, you need to get a DVR, Digital, HDTV box in order to get a HDMI port". That of course will be an extra $7.00 a month on top of all the other charges for Digital service, HDTV service, basic service that is required and Extended basic that is required also to get Digital and HDTV signals....
YOU got to be kidding me......
Someone, somewhere in Lansing or somewhere needs to do something about ComCast..
They are taking their CABLE MONOPOLY a little too far for me......
