| The need to revamp Baseballs All Star game

OK let’s break this down to where my 5 year old nephew can understand it. Why do we need 7 count them 7 Chicago Cubs and Boston Red Sox players on the All Star team?
I understand that the fans vote for the starters, which pretty much, makes it a popularity contest between New York, Chicago and Boston. I also understand that the players vote for the other players that are on the team, so again it becomes who is most popular not the best player ( I.E. Jason Varitek of the Red Sox), but why so many from 1 team.
Was Manny, Ortiz, Papelbon, Varitek, Drew, Youkalis, and Pedroia that much better then every one else that they made the All Star team or was it more that the fans just voted for the name that they recognized?
Red Sox Players on All Star Team: Guys who should be there:
Manny Ramirez OF .278, 16 HR, 53 RBI Jermaine Dye OF .308, 19 HR, 52 RBI
David Ortiz (DL) DH .252, 14 HR, 43 RBI Aubrey Huff DH .281, 17 HR, 54 RBI
Jason Varitek C .218, 7 HR, 27 RBI A.J. Pierzynski C .290, 7 HR, 33 RBI
J D Drew OF .299, 16 HR, 51 RBI Should be on TEAM
Kevin Youkalis 1B .311, 13 HR, 53 RBI Should be on TEAM
Dustin Pedroia 2B .312, 9 HR, 41 RBI Should be on TEAM
Jonathan Papelbon CL 3-3, 2.39 ERA, 25 SV Should be on TEAM
Now I look at that and say yes a few of those guys should have made the team; Papelbon, Youkalis, Drew and Pedroia, but that’s it.
Ortiz is hurt and can’t play, there's a wasted vote. Varitek couldn't hit his way out of a paper bag right now and Manny is just there because those idiot fans in Boston stuffed the damn ballot box.
It seems like every year whenever Boston or the stupid ass Yankees make the World Series I have to endure another All Star game full of their players.
I think that baseball needs to limit the amount of players that one team can send.
I mean is it fair for the fans in Kansas City, Detroit, Seattle, Baltimore, Toronto, Oakland, Washington DC, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Los Angeles and San Diego to have sit through an entire game hoping to see one of their players only to see their pitcher sit the whole game because they want to save him in case the game goes to extra innings or their position player come in for half an inning in the 9th to play defense or pinch run or pinch hit?
I love baseball, don’t get me wrong, but I hate seeing some teams send 4, 5, 6, or 7 players while others only send 1 and that guy is usually a pitcher who does not play.
I understand that the fans or should I say the ballot box stuffers in New York, Chicago and Boston would love to see the guys they voted on play the entire game but I think that 4 and a half innings for a starter is enough.
I think that making a guy like Soria, who I am sure wont play in this years game, sit in the bullpen waiting to pitch only to watch Terry ( the guys from my team play first) Francona call down to the bullpen and bring in Papelbon.
Just make it fair that’s all I ask. If your team all ready has 4 guys voted to start then leave it at that. Pick 2 guys from Kansas City, San Diego, Detroit or Pittsburgh, instead of 3 more from Boston or the Cubs.
Until baseball gets this right I am boycotting all Red Sox, Yankees and Cubs merchandise and not watching another All Star game and think that other fans should join me in this endeavor.
