On the way home from getting sixty dollors in gas. I was in a hurry to get home and fix the kids lunch. As I arrived home my husband was in his boxers sitting on the couch trying to recover from a third shift. I got in to the cooking and was almost done when I hear a KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK. Thinking it was our regular visitors I said wait a minute and then the knock got very loud and I said S can you please get the door I am cooking and he said all I have on is boxers, so I quickly pulled up my food and walked to the door.
Here stands a six foot four tall man in a sheriff's avatar. I said, What can I do for you, thinking he must want a donation or something or that maybe he was gonna tell me some crazy man was out on the loose and to keep my eyes out for him. But nooooooooooo
The first thing he saids is do you know why I am here and I said no. Then he asked, Is this SUV yours and I said yes. Well this lady from the store said you got sixty dollors gas and drove off without paying.
My heart sunk and I said, This is not true. I paid at the pump with my debit and it approved it and when I was done it said thank you for your purchase.Then I called my bank and they said that it showed that I payed.
He said for me to follow him to the store and show her that they had proof at the bank.
When I arrived I told her that I would not do something stupid like that and she said that she did not figure things were right because I walked off slowly to my car to leave, and most people run. Well anyways she showed me that the payment never showed up on her system so I payed her again and kept my receipt making sure I was not double charged.
As I was driving home I realized that she was the one who made the mistake because she forgot to punch a button right after I placed my card. See they have to press this button to accept your card.
So my advice to you is to always make sure you keep your receipt when you pay at the pump. Now I have to live with people saying, gas thieve, gas thieve you know you are a gas thieve! People just love to pick on me, but I laugh also. They are more than likely paying me back for picking on them. lol Have a nice day
Oh and by the way, you could tell that the officer did not think I did it the whole time. Jeesh look at me. I don't look like a crook lol.
