Please know that I am a positive person but everyone has problems. Here is one of MINE...... My son is autistic and today his behavour was really bad. I went to a birthday party at a gym today. I was on edge because every time someone opened the door he would try,,, to dart out the door which is very dangerous. Basicly I could not enjoy myself because of his behavour. His behavour would shock you, but bare in mind I do punish him but it does not always work because he goes through these spells where he want listen to anything you say. It is so tuff being a mother of a child with these problems. He runs me ragid......... A positive note, he has inproved in many things. I never give up hope. They say that autistic children can overcome a lot of thier ways, but it takes a lot of work. Boy they were right. I am working hard and it is so tuff. I prayed for God to give him a miricle so that he can over come his autism one day and be healed. I know lots of stories of children with it, in which you could never tell they had it. I don't understand why children have to go through such big problems sometimes, but I do know that God will give me an answer some day......................................................... .........Please pray for me

Aaaa Sorry I missed your comment on my Blog Michele I was distracted from my blog objective for a short while, for a blessed purpose.
Amassing how the Spirit of the Lord works. Last weekend the Lord laid it on my wife's heart to invite her former husband and partner over for a barbeque at our place. They have an elder boy with autism as well, and appreciated the break, be it for a few hours on their own. However, God is Good, we have a American programme here now in the UK that has been working miracles with children who never interacted before but now do, after using the programme.
My wife and I, hearts goes out to you. At the end of the day we are all just flesh and blood and all can do with a kind word and thoughtful fellowship, no matter how strong and independent we pretend to be at times.
Cheer up and know that Jesus is with you all the way... God Bless
We are praying for you and trust in the love, peace, strength, and healing for you and the boys in the Mighty name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
Agape

IM SO SORRY YOU HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS
I HAVE A CAUSIN WHO HAS SAME PROBLEM
AND NOT ONLY THAT SHE IS ABOUT 9 NOW AND ALSO MAY HAVE BREAST CANCER
ALSO ONE BREAST IS UP AND ONE IS DOWN
SHE IS autistic .
MY ADVISE IS TO CONT TO PRAY FOR HER
PAUL HAD A THORN OF THE FLESH
MEANING HE HAD SOMETHING GOD DIDNT TAKE AWAY
BUT HES TESTIMONY WAS GREAT
SOMETIMES A PERSON CAN HAVE CANCER, ONE FOOT, NO ARMS
I KNOW A CHRITIAN WOMAN WHO HAS NO NO LEGS AND ARMS ON A CHRISTIAN TV NAME JONI
BUT GOD HAS USED HER IN SO MANY WAYS SUCH AS SHE USES HER MOUTH TO PAINT PICTURES
AND SHE HAS BEAUTIFUL PAINTINGS ALL OVER.
SOMETIMES WHEN PEOPLE HAVE A DISABLITY CAN TURN IT AROUND INTO SOMETHING GOOD.
I WILL BE PRAYING FOR YOU AND THAT GOD STILL IS IN THE PROCESS OF HEALING
PEOPLE
AMEN

ONI EARECKSON TADA
Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Joni and Friends
Joni Eareckson Tada is the founder of Joni and Friends, an organization accelerating Christian ministry in the disability community.
A diving accident in 1967 left Mrs. Tada a quadriplegic in a wheelchair, unable to use her hands. After two years of rehabilitation, Joni re-entered the community with new skills and a fresh determination to help others in similar situations. “My church made a huge difference in my family’s life as they demonstrated the love of God in practical ways,” says Joni.
Mrs. Tada wrote of her experiences in her international best-selling biography, Joni. Her name is now recognized in countries around the world following the distribution in many languages of her biography and the full-length feature film JONI. She has personally visited over 41 countries.

Having been catapulted onto a national stage, Mrs. Tada founded Joni and Friends (JAF) in 1979 to accelerate Christian ministry in the disability community throughout the world. The organization grew into the establishment in 2006 of the Joni and Friends International Disability Center (IDC) which is affecting the lives of thousands of families affected by disability around the globe.
Led by Founder and visionary Joni Eareckson Tada and President and COO, Mr. Doug Mazza, the Joni and Friends International Disability Center has four flagship programs:
* With over a million listeners a week "Joni and Friends," a daily five minute radio program, is heard over 1000 broadcast outlets. In 2002 it received the “Radio Program of the Year” award from National Religious Broadcasters.
* In 2007 Joni and Friends will serve over 800 special need families through 16 Family Retreats across the nation.
* Through Wheels for the World, over 34,000 wheelchairs have been collected nationwide, refurbished by inmates in 17 correctional facilities, and then shipped and donated to developing nations where, whenever possible, physical therapists fit each chair to a needy disabled child or adult.
* Through Joni and Friends’ Field Services, staff and volunteers provide church training along with educational and inspirational resources to promote ministry to those affected by disability and those who can help.
The IDC will not only accommodate the extraordinary growth of existing programs but provide a new communications center and training facility for our international partnerships. The Center will also include the Christian Institute on Disability which will speak to sensitive disability-related issues such as euthanasia and stem cell research.
Joni’s work has mainly focused on influencing the church on disability-related issues. However, her impact is felt beyond the Christian community. Mrs. Tada's role as a disability advocate led to a presidential appointment to the National Council on Disability for three and a half years, during which time the Americans with Disabilities Act became law. In 2005, Joni Eareckson Tada was appointed to the Disability Advisory Committee of the U.S. State Department.
Mrs. Tada is a highly sought-after conference speaker both in the U.S. and overseas. She has written numerous articles, which have been published in Christianity Today, Today’s Christian Woman, The War Cry (Salvation Army), and newspapers around the world. Joni has appeared four times on Larry King Live, sharing not only her Christian testimony, but a biblical perspective on right-to-life issues which affect our nation’s disabled population.
During her two years of rehabilitation, Joni spent long months learning how to paint with a brush between her teeth. Her high detail fine art paintings and prints are sought after and collected.
Mrs. Tada is Senior Associate for Disability Concerns for the Lausanne Committee for World Evangelization and serves in an advisory capacity to the American Leprosy Mission, the National Institute on Learning Disabilities, Love and Action, and Christian Blind Mission International, as well as on the Board of Reference for the Christian Writers Guild, New Europe Communications and the Christian Medical and Dental Society. She is currently Honorary Co-Chair of the Presidential Prayer Team
Joni Eareckson Tada has received The American Academy of Achievement's Golden Plate Award; The Courage Award from the Courage Rehabilitation Center; The Award of Excellence from the Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center; The Victory Award from the National Rehabilitation Hospital; The Golden Word Award from the International Bible Society. She is inducted into the Christian Booksellers’ Association’s Hall of Honor. In 2002, Joni received the William Ayer Award for excellence from the National Religious Broadcasters’ Association. In 2003 she was given the Gold Medallion Award for her book When God Weeps. In 2004 she

On Friday I met a wonderful young woman who was attending hospital with her little boy who is profoundly deaf. He was born at 26 weeks and has suffered a lot of physical problems ever since. Her 5 year old son is autistic and they suspect the younger one may be also. What struck me about her was the wonderful way she accepted her difficulties, although she is physically tired and lacking in sleep. I don't know why these things happen to people and it is not God's will, but what I do know is that I have two friends whose sons were also autistic (one has Aspergers) and both have gone on to lead independent lives. It is possible, so when the going gets tough, just do what you've just done, offer up a prayer and remember that there will be a future for your boy. God bless you and all your family.

i can understand your frustration/concern. My oldest daughter has asperger's syndrom and her behavior can be very frustrating. at the end of the day; however, when my frustrations have disappeared and i look at her sleeping, i thank god for giving her to me, quirks and all.... best of luck to you.

I am excited about my boy no matter what problems he has because I love him very much and he is very lovable and fun. I guess I just get upset sometimes thinking about what he must be going through with his problems. I want him to be happy. The good news is that he is very mild, so there is a lot of hope for his future. Thanks

I have a child who was diagnosed as Severely Autistic when she was 3. We were told she would never do so many things. Not to ever expect her to say she loved us or show any emotion but aggitation. She had so many sensory issues that even a touch could bring on ear piercing screams. She too was a runner. We have many trying times and days I looked back thinking I didn't know how I made it through just that one day. She is now 12 and is amazing. She is truly a walking contradiction of all that she is supposed to be. The most affectionate and loving of my 3 children, loves to play jokes, a roller coaster monster, and very social. It didn't happen over night. You just can't give up on them or they give up on theirself. She wasn't ready to give up and I wasn't ready to let her give up. Somewhere in all this God had a meaning for me. I have my opinions of what they may be, and for each person they may be different. All I do know for sure is if I could go back I wouldn't change a thing. Even the days that lasted forever or not knowing if I was doing right. The things she has overcome have made her who she is. I love her and not the autism, so to change anything would take away from who she is. If she can come through all she has come through, who am I to say what I would change. My struggles were nothing compared to hers.
