I've recently been thinking about how mocking people because of how much they weigh or how big they look is still a socially accepted prejudice. I really don't see why someone should be critised by people who dont even know them because of something that doesn't even matter. When will people GROW UP and see that there is nothing wrong with being overweight as long as the person is happy. The only problem with this at the moment is that overweight people are NOT allowed to be happy by today's social standards and how harshly they are treated.
Do people not realise that by divulging in these critisisms of overweight people they are making the person's life a living hell in which they cannot like themselves and cannot begin to think that anyone else will like them because they feel like nothing.
I know that i seem to be biased on this subject and to tell you the truth i am because while in school i was fat and i am not afraid to say it i was bullied and not allowed to have a life because of the way i felt. I was always told to ignore what people would say or do and not take any notice but the truth is you can't help but take notice of all these things and it really does affect you as a person.
Does anybody else feel that all of this negativity is unnecessary and uncalled for?
Or am i just being overly sensitive on the subject?
Comments please??
