I so agree, with everything you have said. Wouldn't it be fun to bring back tribal dancing after supper? Then we would all have to stop, listen to the drum beat and dance together for a little time. But this wish of mine isn't likely to happen...bummer!

I was actually recently thinking about the inherent love all humans seem to have for rhythm and tribal beats...even grabbed my bongos and went into that space again, after watching "The Visitor." I really think that music, not mathmetics, is the Universal language.

I have to admit that I am kind of bad at some of these things. I mean, not the elevator or movie thing, or the errands thing hahaha. but being on my cell phone ALL the time!! It is starting to drive me nuts and I am working on not doing it as much too. During my yoga time I shut my phone off and just be with just me. Whenever I go on walks or workouts I leave my phone at home (even though it might be smart to bring it for safety purposes. Usually that's because I have no where to put it.). *sigh* you're entirely right.

You are so right about the reason for the re-pressing the elevator buttons--to avoid real contact with another human being. This fear of contact is amplified in the elevator due it's confined space, and the button thing has the same basic social mechanics as everyone looking up at the floor lights...1, 2, 3, 4...ahhh, this is my floor, I'm outta here! Whew! That was a close call...
Regarding music as a more basic form of communication than mathmatics or verbage; it's one of my favorite ways to connect with my grandchildren, especially before they began talking. My grandson, Austin, is just starting to put simple 3 word sentences together and I turned to my daughter (his mom) after one of them and said "Well, that's the end of the innocence..." Now words and concepts will, more and more, become a veil between him and creation. I know it's part of the natural process of identifying with thought and ego creation, and I know he will eventually figure out the truth for himself and put words and symbols back into their proper place (as he hopefully transcends his illusory sense of self) , but...it is just a tiny bit sad to watch the process unfold. As many parents and grandparents have said before, "I wish I could stop you from growing and keep you this age."
