I'm sitting here at work, counting down that last 45 minutes to an hour, thinking about what I'm working towards, in terms of my physical conditioning. I'm striking a balance between just being in the now, enjoying the journey as its own reward and having a goal to move towards.
The first goal is to complete the LA Marathon in March of 2008.
Next is to continue training, after a suitable rest/recovery, for the next marathon, and so on.
Marathons I'd love to run; Big Sur, London, Italy, Hawaii, Greece!
I'd like to be a 50+ mile per week (on average) runner.
Eventually I'd like to see daily morning Kundalini yoga sets come back into the mix.
Pilates mat work 3-5 times per week (for general conditioning but specifically for core work)
Varying my running training to include asphalt, trails and cross country.
Increasing my average speed so that I finish marathons in 4-5 hours for the first few, and work up to 3-4 hour finishes eventually.
I'll ease into them, using the general guideline for running training; never increase your weekly mileage by more than 10%. I'll take my time, listen to my body and enjoy the ride.
