| say goodbye to freedom of choice, or religion |
I came across this article this morning (see blow) and I am appalled at this story, but it illustrates exactly what I've been harping upon and discussing with friends for years...that we are living with the illusion of freedom, nothing more. We're free to choose as long as the powers that be say it's ok and that, ladies and gentlemen, is not freedom at all. It's just a larger cage.
This family wants to pursue alternative means of cancer treatment for their 13 year old son in line with their religious and spiritual beliefs. If I were the parent of a sick child, I'd do exactly the same thing. I think radiation and chemo are as barbaric and ridiculous as the bleeding and leeching practices of the early centuries.
As I've argued with people who were ill and wanted to right to die, or even when it comes to people who want to commit suicide for any reason...what gives anyone the right to make decisions about that person's life and well being other than that person?!? You think we're not living the Orwellian nightmere? Open your eyes!
So if I had a child with cancer and chose to approach that with things like nutritional healing, spirituality, yogic healing, herbs, ayurvedic medicine, eastern medicine, some fat-ass judge and holier than thou doctor can now tell me, the parent, that I cannot do that?! Go fuck yourselves. This is riduclous. Western medicine, for which I have very little respect, has become as unquestionnable in this world as the concept of God, and that's absolutely insane. The idea of beating down the immune system that the body relies on in order to defeat a disease we clearly do not understand is as ignorant as just bombing cities full of innocent civilians because there are upstarts living there that we don't know how to deal with.
There are many paths to healing, and the choice as to which paths will be walked for a child need to be up to the family, decisions made privately together based on upon their ideals and beliefs, not left up to government, judges and doctors. Give your opinions, shake your heads, say it's stupid and suicide, but don't tell someone what they can and cannot do regarding their own health.
I see things like this...and the headlines about the lord and savior Obama reviving Bush-era Guantanamo Tribunals he lambasted as human rights violations during his campaign and I'm not surprised at all...as I said before...same mayonaise, different label...and it relates to stories like this in being pieces of the same insidious puzzle.
Day by day, our rights are being taken away from us, right before our very eyes. Let's watch now for the evolution of mandatory microchipping, mandatory vaccinations and giving western medical doctors more rights over our own bodies than we have. Mark my words, it's happening right now. Anyone else have a problem with this? I do.
Didn't our "founding fathers' come here for freedom of religion? I don't care if someone's religion says the way to healing is square dancing with frogs, that's their personal choice.
Stay the hell out of our lives.
I fear it's too late, folks.
