I've been a busy busy gal...Last week I was on vacation and the mi-fi in the condo was non-exsistent. I tried jacking a wireless signal off of other people but no no avail. Ft Myers was a blast. Me and Princess had some good quality bonding time. She was on a one girl mission to save all the clams she could find in the surf. It was quite adorable.
I think I'm fighting a losing battle with Thoughts and trying to upload my pictures. I've so far this morning spent about 30 minutes trying to upload with no luck. It keeps telling me that the file may be corrupted. Which is odd since I can upload pictures to just about any other site I want to....Oh well.
So Ft Myers......I haven't been on an actually vacation since Princess was 2 or 3. Much needed I'll assure you that. But we had fun. Every morning we'd load up with sunscreen, pack our beach bag and plop ourselves in the sand for a few hours.
We saw lots of sea life that outside of aquariums or sea world, I've not come into contact with. Lets see....one day I was up early in the morning and decided to go for a dunk....to my suprise (and I'll have to admit some fear before I realized what it was) Dolphins came for a swim with me. That was hella exciting!!!
Princess liked walking around in the surf and seeing all the little fish and other things swimming around. I'm not used to the calmness and clarity of the gulf so I do have to admit, it was pretty interesting. Then we saw a stingray, a little one, and followed it for awhile. Then we saw a crab and chased it for a little bit. Walking out of the surf something caught my eye. We scooped up a sea anemone....I named him fluffy...I scooped himup in a bucket, walked up to the condo to show my dad then released him back into the wild.
We went to Sannibel Island one day to collect seashells and there we saw a group of about 10-15 stingrays. Since then I've learned that would have been called a fever of stingrays....odd name but somehow fitting. We found lots and lots of seashells. My mom and I had to split them between our suitcases to get them home safely.
Another day Princess and my dad were flying a kite while I was walking on the beach and I found a giant clam. Well not giant persey...but it was much bigger than the little ones that princess had been trying to save. I would say it was about 3-4 inches across. Once again I have pictures, but since thougts has it out for me......
Our last day there, well last night actually, Princess & I went walking along the beach and came across 2 conch shells ( Darrell & his other brother Darrell, yes I named most of the things we found, it amused princess) with actual live conchs in them. Princess thought it was really neat until I explained that the conch fritters we had eaten the day before...contained well...what she was poking at in the shell.....I'm pretty sure you could hear the "ewwwwww" over on the west coast. We continued out walk that night and came across a sea slug....otherwise known as Horace, I dunno, I just said the name that popped into my head. I was going to pick him up and put him back in the surf until I noticed the mouth that kept opening and closing.....my luck I would have picked him up and the damn thing would have bitten my and liquified my hand. So I grabbed a stick and rolled him back into the water where he belonged.
All in all, awesome vacation, but now I'm back at work..........
Seriously though...if someone could offer some insight into why thoughts has such an issue with me...it would be greatly appreciated. I'd love to upload our vacation pictures!!!!
