I just got a new notebook computer yesterday and it came with a copy of Windows Vista. I guess it's inevitable since this is the latest Windows version out there and all new machines come preloaded with it.
I didn't really like the new Vista design and the layout that much. I actually found it LESS user friendly than previous versions of Windows. I mean, all the settings are all spread out! Changing the display settings required me to go through 5 dialog boxes, when I could have the same thing through 1 dialog box in XP.
The MOST annoying part with Vista are the User Access Control (UAC) security pop-ups. Everytime I want to make a change, it asks me for my permission.
Luckily, I found this great article by Tim Sneath about disabling those crappy pop-ups. If you've encountered the same problem as I have and are frustrated, I would recommend that you check that article out.
