Theology

I have long understood theology (the knowledge of God) to include two major aspects:

Dogmatic truth – things we know for sure because they are presented in scripture and affirmed by tradition.

Speculative truth – things I'm still thinking and praying about.

I believe that healthy churches (or Christian organizations) recognize and encourage both areas.

“Liberals” have no dogma, everything is 'speculative'

'Fundamentalists' have no 'speculative theology' Everything they believe is 'dogma' and everything else is heresy.
