Well, I guess I should start with a word of explanation on the last post. Aaron bought me a Claddagh ring - you can look it up on Wikipedia if you don't know what it is.
Anyway - it was so good to have Aaron here. I had a lot of fun showing him around Ireland, and he seemed to really enjoy it. It was super fun just to be together again and to walk down the street hand in hand and laugh and be silly. We also got to have serious conversations about everything that has been going on, which was good too.
While he was here we went to Galway, which is somewhere I had never been before. It was really pretty! The town is a university town and had a really artsy feel - lots of street performers and the like. We took a bus tour of Connemara and Kylemore Abbey, which was pretty sweet. Oh and we went to the Galway City Museum where
we saw a huge exhibit on... JFK. Yeah, it was a little weird, but it was a nice exhibit.
Let's see... most of the things that we did in Dublin are things I have done before - Dublin Castle, Kilmainham Gaol, Book of Kells, Irish Writer's Museum... We did go to the Chester Beatty Library which has a whole bunch of early Islam and Christian manuscripts, which was pretty neat to see. We also had lots of good pub grub and went on two dates to McDonald's. High class, I know. But super super fun :-)
I was going to write about my entire vacation, but that would just be way too much. So i will do Paris and Rome in the next few days.
