1969.about this time i had to share a room with both sisters so my baby brother could have his own room.we had a trundle bed that pulled out at night and kara would sleep on.mary ann shared with her.She had a problem with her lungs from cystic fibrosis (we found out she had this after a sweat test).Kara would cough on and off all night.it was hard on her and us to listen to it.
my corner of the room was usually covered with clothes and papers and drawings and stuff.my sisters side had dolls.
i remember going to grandmas and seeing the men walk on the moon on T.V.
Music was apart of my life because my father was involved in the barbershop quartet and took me once to a practice.He played the piano everynight at home after dinner.Somtimes his friends would come to our house in those silly straw hats and practice.I loved the song "Moon River"(and still do)I had a 45 of the song "Daniel Boone" I kept it under my pillow and one night i cracked it.
My mother ws the best cook ever.Even though my parents worked full time we always had dinner together and dessert!!I the smell of my mothers tomato sauce with all the oregeno,and her homemade ravioli.(she is 100% italian),Sundays were pot roast.Fridays where homemade pizza(no meat of course on friday.)Except sardines.I love em'.
