My mother was 23 years old with a sick infant and a toddler.her own mother had died of cancer 13 years before.Her father was a grumpy,depressed man,but when kara was born it livened him right up,he loved to help with her.
1963 Dec.My sister Mary ann was born.
1964 easter time.i got burned by hot water.i don't remember the burn,but i remember getting to tell the easter bunny at woolworths what the bandage was for!
1965 We moved to a new home in a nice neighborhood. kara had her own room,and i shared with my mary ann.
I started kindergarten and i remember the classroom even now.i can remember loosing a tooth in that bathroom and blood all over my lips and i cried.
1966 Jan. my parents finally have a son! my brother john was born.
i remember the day he came home from the hospital my mother was changing his diaper and i was looking at him,when he pee'd.shot right in my mouth! I cried. i can still taste that salty taste.
In the summer i made a dirt pile in the back yard.i had all my cars( i hated dolls).one day a boy appeared at the fence,i said "hi" he threw a rock,hit me in the forehead,i had to get a bunch of stitches.I still have a scar.I fell in love with that boy.
Sept. I start first grade in a new school. a catholic school. i remember having to shop for that uniform, a one piece plaid jumper,white blouse,bow tie,ankle socks,and saddle shoes.ugh!
But where was my friend? He had to go to public school,so i lost touch with him,besides there was plenty more boys now!.....................to be continued
