I live in an apartment block and we have a shared clothesline at the back of the building, which is visible from my bedroom window. I washed a few towels a few days ago and I hung them out on the line. It rained the next day while I was out so I left it for another day to collect. Stupid decision. By the time I went to get them, they were gone! I thought that maybe my flatmate had collected them for me when she found out it was raining. But that wasn't the case.
I can't believe someone would steal another person's towels. It was lucky for me that I didn't wash all of my towels in one load. At least I still had a few left. But who steals towels??!!
I always thought I was living in a pretty good apartment building. I thought I had good neighbours. I guess it could've been anyone. Maybe someone from another building. Whatever. I feel violated.
I know this is such a mundane thing to whinge about, but they were good towels! Towels can be expensive!
I know this has happened to other people before. Apparently, the lady at Number 3 had her stuff stolen from the line once and it turned out that a neighbour's friend had stolen it. She managed to get it back. But how annoying.
Has this happened to anyone here?
UPDATE!!
After leaving a note on our noticeboard about the missing towels, they magically reappeared this afternoon... back on the clothesline... hmmm...
