| Schubert: Ellens Gesang #3, Op. 52/6 (Ave Maria)

Classical song titles tend to be very long and lengthy, but luckily this piece is not one of them! This musical masterpiece was something i decided to post only a couple days ago, but it bares a significance in a much different way than most of the other songs that i listen to. Why did i chose a classical piece? Well, once you hear it, it should sound familiar to some of you.
This song was implemented into the movie "the Hitman" which was released in theaters last year. I wanted to post this musical piece to show how a song can take on a different meaning through the implementation of visual images. A lot of songs today have been remakes from previous classical pieces and we never really hear about where some songs come from and what classical pieces that they were influenced from. We always forget about classical music due to it being "old fashioned." I'm here to say that it has never gone out-of-date and probably never will with new pieces of music being influenced by these old classics every day.
The version of this musical piece is not the original one, but a remake, as different variations of the piece can sound very different in structure and melody. It still has its own meaning and feel. The movie, "the Hitman" gave me the opportunity to hear this song for the first time, but with that i never was able to experience what the song meant without the gruesome memories of the movie itself; the images of a silent assassin.
Could this song have been as significant had it not reminded me of the movie? Does the visual images of a song make it that powerful? Some food for thought!
Enjoy...for those who enjoy classical pieces!
