This was not the song that I had planned to post tonight. While listening to the song that I planned to use, i was looking through some older instrumentals that i hadn't heard in awhile when I came across this song. When listening to it, I felt a need to make this instrumental the one that i wanted to post for tonight.
I never played the game which this song originated from for more than twenty minutes, due to how old it was at the time i decided to play the game. Graphics have changed gameplay drastically over a short period of time, and a game based on the Super Nintendo did not seem that amazing anymore for me. This theme came close to the beginning of the game, so i was still able to hear it before putting the game down for good.
The orchestral version that i posted is not the one from the game of course, but you can still tell the similarties to the original theme if you had ever played the game. I believe that this version that i posted came from a soundtrack compilation that was released in 1994 called "F.F. Mix" and was the first track on the CD. It's supposedly a "New View Snow Remix."
Though, i'm not sure about where the version of this song came from, i do know the original theme had an impact on my life and that it changed how i looked at music from games. I also believe that the original theme was a stepping stone for how instrumental music has become a huge impact into video games. I will be posting more themes over the course of this blog that have had its impact from the composers like Nobuo Uematsu who dedicated their career to video game music.
Enjoy
